Mistfall Hunter Class Tier List
Mistfall Hunter’s strongest class is not necessarily the one with the highest damage. A good extraction class also needs a way to survive an ambush, control the distance of a fight, handle PvE without burning every resource, and reach an extraction point after the original plan falls apart.
With those factors combined, Mercenary and Shadowstrix take the S Tier positions. Mercenary is the most dependable class across unpredictable fights, while Shadowstrix has unmatched control over when those fights happen. Blackarrow, Withered Knight, and Sorcerer are all powerful enough to dominate the right situation, but each has a more exploitable failure state.

Mistfall Hunter Class Tier List
This tier list ranks classes by their complete value across a run rather than judging them inside a controlled duel. Damage still matters, but so do information, mobility, recovery tools, group value, and the ability to function when an opponent refuses to fight on your terms.
S Tier: Mercenary and Shadowstrix
Mercenary is the most consistent all-around class, while Shadowstrix has the best tools for controlling engagements and avoiding unnecessary risk.
A Tier: Blackarrow, Withered Knight, and Sorcerer
All three can take over a fight, but their effectiveness depends more heavily on terrain, positioning, matchup, or maintaining the correct distance.
B Tier: Seer
Seer has valuable healing and battlefield utility, but much of its strength is tied to having teammates available to protect and benefit from its kit.
S Tier Classes
1. Mercenary
Mercenary earns the top overall position because it remains useful in more situations than any other class. Its high health, damage reduction, crowd control, buffs, area pressure, and access to multiple weapon styles give it a solution for most ordinary problems encountered during a run.
The class does not need to land the perfect opening attack. It can survive unexpected burst damage, absorb pressure while deciding whether to fight or retreat, and turn a messy engagement into a longer exchange. That makes it particularly effective against classes that depend on quickly overwhelming a vulnerable target.
Sword and shield provide a more defensive option for approaching dangerous areas, while the warhammer allows Mercenary to apply heavier pressure and control groups. That versatility matters more when playing alone because there is no teammate available to compensate for a narrow build.
Mercenary does have limits. It lacks a natural ranged answer and can be forced into awkward approaches against Blackarrow or Sorcerer, especially when they control elevated terrain. Its single-target boss damage is also less explosive than the dedicated damage classes.
Those weaknesses slow Mercenary down without completely shutting it out of the encounter. It usually has enough durability and control to create another opportunity, which is why it remains the safest top-tier recommendation.
2. Shadowstrix
Shadowstrix reaches S Tier for a completely different reason. Mercenary survives unfavorable situations, while Shadowstrix is better at preventing those situations from developing in the first place.
Stealth and exceptional mobility give Shadowstrix more control over the pace of an extraction run. It can scout an area, bypass another player, approach an objective quietly, or wait until an enemy is already distracted before committing to an attack.
That ability to choose fights is one of the strongest advantages a solo player can have. Shadowstrix also has extremely high single-target damage, allowing it to eliminate vulnerable targets before a longer battle draws unwanted attention.
The class falls apart much faster when its opening plan fails. Shadowstrix is extremely fragile, depends heavily on cooldowns, and has little room to trade attacks after its burst sequence ends. Blackarrow can interfere with stealth, while Withered Knight can punish a predictable melee combo with a parry.
Shadowstrix still belongs in S Tier because extraction success is not determined only by who wins a fair fight. The ability to avoid that fair fight, strike at the right moment, and disappear before another player arrives gives the class enormous value in experienced hands.
A Tier Classes
3. Blackarrow
Blackarrow takes the highest A Tier position because its real strength goes beyond ranged damage. Tracking, traps, elemental arrows, status effects, and control over elevated terrain give the class access to something every extraction player wants: information.
Knowing that another player is nearby can be more valuable than dealing slightly more damage. Blackarrow can use that information to prepare a trap, change routes, claim high ground, or decide that the encounter is not worth taking.
Once positioned correctly, Blackarrow can pressure enemies with Bleed, Poison, Stun, and stagger effects before they reach melee range. It is also highly valuable in a trio because it can watch approaches and control areas that melee teammates would struggle to cover.
The weakness is how quickly that control disappears once an opponent closes the gap. Blackarrow is fragile, vulnerable to crowd control, and heavily punished by grappling hooks or fast engagement skills. Its longer cooldowns also make a missed ability more expensive than it would be for a class with a more forgiving defensive kit.
Blackarrow narrowly misses S Tier because it can feel dominant from the correct position and helpless from the wrong one. Even so, its combination of tracking and ranged control makes it one of the most strategically valuable classes in the game.
4. Withered Knight
Withered Knight is one of Mistfall Hunter’s strongest direct combat classes. It has heavy armor, fast greatsword combinations, parries, counterattacks, damage mitigation, ranged sword attacks, a grappling hook, and powerful burst damage built around applying Wither.
It is especially effective against bosses and enemies that are willing to remain within its preferred range. The grappling hook can pull a target out of position, while parries and counterattacks allow the class to punish aggressive melee players instead of simply absorbing their attacks.
Withered Knight also handles groups well, making it a strong choice for players who expect to fight through the PvE portion of a run rather than avoiding it. Few classes can match its ability to turn one successful defensive read into immediate offensive pressure.
Its lower placement comes from what happens when the opponent refuses to commit. Ranged players can kite it, force it to spend resources on approaching, or separate it from a favorable position. It also has less weapon flexibility than Mercenary and relies more heavily on consumables and tactical items when its normal engagement tools are unavailable.
Withered Knight can look like an S Tier class during a boss fight or close-range duel. Across an entire extraction run, however, its dependence on reaching and maintaining the correct range makes it slightly less consistent.
5. Sorcerer
Sorcerer has the highest damage ceiling in the roster. Its elemental and astral magic can clear groups, control chokepoints, and burst down enemies before they establish any meaningful pressure.
Fast kills have additional value in Mistfall Hunter because every extended fight creates noise and gives another player more time to arrive. Sorcerer can shorten that window dramatically, especially when it has enough distance to cast freely.
The class is also dangerous in group play. A frontline teammate can occupy enemies while Sorcerer attacks from safety, allowing it to use its damage without accepting the same level of risk it faces alone.
The problem is that Sorcerer is highly dependent on positioning. Its low health means that one poorly timed escape or unexpected melee engage can erase the advantage created by its damage. Mercenary can survive a failed plan, Shadowstrix can often abandon one, and Blackarrow can prepare the terrain. Sorcerer usually needs to win before the plan fails.
That makes it an excellent specialist rather than the best overall class. In the hands of a player who understands spacing and ability timing, Sorcerer can outperform its A Tier placement. For the average run, its low margin for error prevents it from ranking higher.
B Tier Classes
6. Seer
Seer is not a weak class, but its value is distributed differently from the rest of the roster. Healing, curses, totems, runes, and sigils give it strong support and battlefield-control potential, particularly when those tools are protecting multiple players.
In a coordinated group, Seer can improve the effectiveness of the entire composition. Healing helps teammates remain active after taking damage, while curses and control effects can make it easier for a Mercenary, Withered Knight, or Shadowstrix to finish a target.
The issue is that much of this value disappears when Seer is isolated. A solo Seer must handle damage, defense, positioning, and objective pressure without a dedicated frontline. Its sustain can extend a fight, but extending the fight is not always helpful when another player may already be moving toward the noise.
Seer belongs in B Tier because it is the class most affected by party composition. Its position rises significantly in an organized trio, but it is harder to recommend as a universal choice when several other classes are more self-sufficient.

How Skill Level Changes the Tier List
Mistfall Hunter’s class ranking changes considerably as the player becomes more experienced. Mercenary is immediately effective because its durability gives new players time to recover from mistakes. Withered Knight also becomes easier to appreciate once its parry timing, engagement tools, and Wither combinations feel familiar.
Shadowstrix and Sorcerer gain the most from advanced game knowledge. Shadowstrix becomes stronger as players learn routes, objective locations, escape paths, and which fights are worth taking. Sorcerer improves as the player develops better spacing and stops wasting escape tools before a melee threat commits.
Blackarrow benefits from map knowledge in a different way. Understanding high-ground positions, chokepoints, likely approach routes, and trap locations can turn it from a fragile archer into one of the most oppressive classes in a lobby.
Seer gains more from coordination than individual mechanical improvement. Its ranking rises when teammates communicate, remain close enough to benefit from its support, and understand how to capitalize on its control effects.
This is why a class can be S Tier for one player and frustrating for another. The strongest class is not only determined by its abilities, but by how often the player can create the conditions those abilities require.
Which Mistfall Hunter Class Should You Pick?
Mercenary is the best choice when you want one class that can handle almost every part of the game without demanding perfect execution. Shadowstrix is the better option for players who prefer stealth, exploration, and opportunistic PvP.
Choose Blackarrow when you enjoy controlling terrain and gathering information before committing. Pick Withered Knight when you want to fight bosses and force close-range engagements, or Sorcerer when maximum damage matters more than having room for mistakes.
Seer makes the most sense for players who regularly enter the Gyldenmist with a coordinated group and want to improve the performance of the entire team.
No class is unbeatable, and every option has a matchup or situation that exposes its weaknesses. The most important difference is how each class responds when it loses control. Mercenary absorbs the problem, Shadowstrix escapes it, Blackarrow tries to prevent it, Withered Knight fights through it, Sorcerer destroys it quickly, and Seer relies on its team to manage it together.
