Palworld 1.0 Nightstar Sand Locations & Farm Guide

Palworld 1.0 Nightstar Sand Locations & Farm Guide

Nightstar Sand is easy to overlook because it does not resemble an ordinary ore deposit, and its glowing pickup points can become difficult to see after the 1.0 update. It is scattered across a handful of sandy regions rather than mined from one permanent node, so the fastest farm comes from visiting several fixed spawn areas in the same night instead of searching an entire desert at random.

Best Nightstar Sand Location in Palworld 1.0

The easiest Nightstar Sand location is around the PIDF Tower Entrance in the Desiccated Desert. Fast travel to the waypoint, search the sandy ground around the tower, and check behind the structure for several glowing pickup points.

This is the best first destination because it is quick to reach, easy to search, and does not require a long trip through Feybreak Island. You can collect the nearby nodes, move toward the Paladius and Necromus boss area for another group, and then return after the resource respawns.

Players looking for a larger haul should eventually move to the coast of Feybreak Island. The Scorched Ashland shoreline contains Nightstar Sand across a much wider stretch of terrain, making it the stronger bulk-farming location once you can travel through the higher-level island safely.

Location Best For Risk
PIDF Tower Entrance Fastest and easiest collection Low to moderate
Paladius and Necromus area Extra desert nodes in the same route High if the bosses engage
Scorched Ashland coast Best larger farming route High-level Feybreak enemies
Withered Seaside Long coastal sweep High-level Feybreak enemies
Loess Plains Quick secondary stop Easy to miss the small sandy patch
Deserted Ash Plateau Additional western Feybreak pickups Longer travel between nodes

All Nightstar Sand Locations

Nightstar Sand appears in the Desiccated Desert and across several sandy parts of Feybreak Island. The nodes are small ground pickups rather than rocks that must be mined, so slow down and scan the surface instead of looking for a large resource formation.

The main areas are:

PIDF Tower Entrance: Search around the tower and along the sandy ground behind it.

Paladius and Necromus boss area: Additional Nightstar Sand appears throughout the surrounding dunes. You can collect it without starting the boss fight if you keep your distance and move carefully.

Dunes north of Duneshelter: Check the highest sandy ridges north of the desert settlement, particularly along the more open dune tops.

Scorched Ashland: The northern Feybreak coast contains a long stretch of Nightstar Sand pickups and is one of the best places for a dedicated run.

Withered Seaside: The eastern coast of Feybreak Island contains scattered nodes along the beach and surrounding sandy terrain.

Loess Plains: A smaller sandy area near the Loess Plains waypoint contains another cluster. It is easy to pass because most of the surrounding terrain does not resemble the larger desert locations.

Deserted Ash Plateau: The western section of Feybreak Island contains additional pickups and works well as the final stop in a full island circuit.

Best Desiccated Desert Nightstar Sand Route

Begin at the PIDF Tower Entrance shortly after nightfall and collect every visible node around the tower. Circle behind the structure before leaving, since several pickups can be hidden from the fast-travel side.

From there, travel toward the Paladius and Necromus arena and sweep the sandy ground around the boss area. Stay near the outer edge if you are only farming materials, since there is no benefit in turning a collection run into a Legendary boss fight unless you were planning to challenge them anyway.

Finish the route by heading toward the highest dunes north of Duneshelter. Nightstar Sand can appear across the upper sandy areas, and the elevation makes the glowing points easier to spot from a mount.

This route is better for players who have not progressed far into Feybreak Island. It combines three desert locations without requiring a separate island expedition, and the nearby fast-travel points make it easy to repeat.

Best Feybreak Nightstar Sand Farming Route

For a larger farming session, start at Scorched Ashland and follow the northern coastline while scanning the beaches. The length of the coast allows you to collect several nodes without repeatedly circling the same small patch of ground.

After clearing the north, move east toward the Withered Seaside and continue searching along the shore. The sandy coastal terrain makes the pickups easier to identify than in the mixed inland areas, although the local Pals are considerably more dangerous than those around the Desiccated Desert.

Travel south to the Loess Plains waypoint and inspect the nearby sandy section before continuing west toward the Deserted Ash Plateau. The Loess Plains cluster is smaller, so treat it as a short stop rather than spending an entire night searching the surrounding grasslands.

A fast flying mount cuts down the travel time between Feybreak regions and lets you scan for glowing nodes before landing. The Palworld 1.0 flying mounts list covers stronger options if your current Pal struggles with longer island routes.

Bring enough armor and healing supplies to handle the island’s hostile Pals. Nightstar Sand itself does not require special equipment to collect, but Feybreak is not an early-game region, and stopping to inspect the ground can leave you exposed to enemies that are less interested in your crafting plans.

Why Nightstar Sand Is Not Glowing in Palworld 1.0

Some players have reported that Nightstar Sand nodes stop glowing even though the resource remains present and can still be collected. The issue can occur in solo worlds and multiplayer servers, and different players standing in the same location may not always see the same glow.

If the nodes are not visible, return to a location where you have collected Nightstar Sand before and move slowly while watching for the interaction prompt. The pickup can remain active even when the visual effect is missing.

Restarting the game or reloading the world may restore the glow temporarily, although the issue can return later. Until it is resolved, memorizing the most reliable spots around PIDF Tower and the Feybreak coast is more dependable than relying entirely on the blue-white visual effect.

Multiplayer players can also have another person mark the exact pickup position. If one player can see the node and another cannot, the second player may still be able to collect it by approaching the same point and using the interaction prompt.

Can You Collect Nightstar Sand During the Day?

Night is the best time to farm Nightstar Sand because the nodes normally emit a bright glow that stands out against the surrounding terrain. The resource can still remain collectible during the daytime, but the pickup points are far harder to identify without the visual effect.

For a first farming run, arrive shortly before sunset and begin once the glow becomes visible. This gives you the full night to move between several locations without spending the first half of the route waiting for darkness.

If you already know the exact node positions, you can revisit them during the day and check for the interaction prompt. This can be useful when the 1.0 glow bug is affecting your world anyway, since nighttime may no longer provide the expected visibility advantage.

What Nightstar Sand Is Used For

Nightstar Sand is used in several advanced weapons, accessories, and movement upgrades. Its most notable recipes include the Beam Sword, Advanced Bow, Metal Detector, Air Dash Boots, Double Air Dash Boots, Triple Air Dash Boots, Double Jump Boots, Triple Jump Boots, Anti-Gravity Belt, and multiple Air Walker upgrades.

Recipe Category Examples
Weapons Advanced Bow, Legendary Advanced Bow, Beam Sword
Exploration equipment Metal Detector
Dash accessories Air Dash, Double Air Dash, and Triple Air Dash Boots
Jump accessories Double Jump and Triple Jump Boots
Movement upgrades Air Walker series and Anti-Gravity Belt

Nightstar Sand has no weight, so there is little reason to leave nodes behind once you find them. Collect every pickup during a route and store the surplus, since the material supports several upgrades rather than one isolated recipe.

Fastest Way to Farm Nightstar Sand

Use the PIDF Tower Entrance for quick collections and combine it with the Paladius boss area and dunes north of Duneshelter for a compact desert route. Once Feybreak Island is manageable, switch to a longer circuit through Scorched Ashland, Withered Seaside, Loess Plains, and Deserted Ash Plateau.

Travel at night whenever the nodes are glowing, but do not assume the resource is missing if the effect fails to appear. Walk through the known spawn areas and watch for the pickup prompt, since the 1.0 visual bug can hide Nightstar Sand without removing it.

The resource weighs nothing and supports several late-game movement accessories, so every route is worth clearing completely. A few extra pickups now are easier than returning to Feybreak later because the next pair of boots needs one more material you assumed was already in storage.
