Ranch Simulator Cultivator Guide | How To Prepare Large Crop Fields

Ranch Simulator Cultivator Guide | How To Prepare Large Crop Fields

Using the cultivator is required before you can grow large crops on your ranch. If the soil is not prepared correctly, seeding will not work at all.

This guide explains exactly how the cultivator works and when to use it.

How The Cultivator Works In Ranch Simulator

The cultivator is a trailer used to prepare large crop plots for seeding. It must be attached to a tractor and dragged across the field to ready the soil.

Cultivating is always the first step when farming large crops. Seeding cannot happen until this step is finished.

Where The Cultivator Is Used

The cultivator is only used on the 3 large crop plots located at the back of your ranch.

These plots are reserved for wheat, corn, and sunflowers. Small crop plots do not use the cultivator at all.

How To Attach The Cultivator

The cultivator must be connected to a tractor before use.

  • Back the tractor up to the cultivator trailer

  • Attach the trailer to the tractor hitch

  • Get into the tractor to begin work

Once attached, the cultivator is ready to be lowered.

How To Use The Cultivator Correctly

Using the cultivator follows a simple control loop.

  • Drive the tractor onto the large crop plot

  • Press left click to lower the cultivator

  • Drive across the soil to cultivate it

  • Press left click again to raise the cultivator when finished

If the tractor gets stuck while cultivating, raising the trailer usually fixes it.

What Cultivating Actually Does

Cultivating prepares the soil so seeds can be planted. It does not plant seeds and does not apply fertilizer.

After a plot is fully cultivated, you must switch to the seeder to continue the farming process.

What Comes After Cultivating

Once cultivation is complete, the next step is seeding.

Seeds are planted using the seeder trailer, which must also be attached to a tractor. Cultivating does not carry over between harvests, so fields must be cultivated again before each new planting cycle.

Final Blurb

The cultivator in Ranch Simulator is absolutely mandatory. Attach it to a tractor, lower it, and prep the field before doing anything else. If the soil is not cultivated, large crop farming stops right there.
