RS3 Leagues 2 Best Regions Tier List
Picking regions in RS3 Leagues 2 is less about finding the three areas with the longest reward lists and more about avoiding three regions that all solve the same problems. Desert, Wilderness, and Anachronia can look like the obvious meta combination on paper, but that does not automatically make it the best setup for an account that mostly wants to reach Tier 7, fight bosses, and actually enjoy the rest of the League.
I would rank regions by how much useful content they add without needing another specific region, relic, or end-game goal to justify the pick. A region packed with bosses, progression gear, and several ways to train skills is more valuable to me than one that becomes incredible only after combining it with a very specific relic strategy or grinding toward Dragon Cup.

RS3 Leagues 2 Best Regions Tier List
My overall ranking is Desert and Asgarnia in S Tier, Wilderness and Anachronia in A Tier, Tirannwn and Kandarin in B Tier, Morytania in C Tier, and Fremennik in D Tier. That is not purely a Dragon Cup ranking. I am weighing how useful the region remains for an ordinary account that wants strong progression, plenty of things to do, and enough variety that the unlock does not feel wasted after one specific strategy is finished.
S Tier — Desert, Asgarnia
A Tier — Wilderness, Anachronia
B Tier — Tirannwn, Kandarin
C Tier — Morytania
D Tier — Fremennik
The biggest difference from the standard meta is Asgarnia. I think it is being underrated whenever region rankings focus too heavily on theoretical point efficiency, because Asgarnia gives you useful PvM from the early game through the late game, several skilling options, Invention infrastructure, and content that remains relevant even if you stop caring about League points the moment Tier 7 unlocks.
Desert Is Still the Best Overall Region
I have a hard time putting anything above Desert because it covers almost every stage of an account without demanding that you specialize around it. Menaphos gives you useful Woodcutting, Fishing, and Thieving options, Nemi Forest contributes experience in several otherwise unrelated skills, and the PvM ladder runs from Kalphite content and GWD2 all the way into Telos and Amascut.
That progression curve is what makes Desert stronger than a region that simply has one amazing end-game reward. You can unlock it early and immediately have things worth doing, then continue finding reasons to return as your combat level and relic tiers increase.
Heist 1 is another reason I like the region so much, especially with Golden Touch. Vault of Hereditas can contribute money and high-tier equipment, while Menaphos pickpocketing gives Golden Touch another large pool of NPCs and clue opportunities to exploit.
The main reason I would ever skip Desert is much simpler than the meta discussion makes it sound: if you actively dislike its bosses or do not want to engage with the content. Region slots are too limited to spend one on a theoretically optimal area you already know you are going to avoid.
Asgarnia Is My Favorite Region for a Normal League Account
If the goal is not specifically maximizing every possible Dragon Cup point, Asgarnia may be the most comfortable region in Equilibrium. GWD1 gives you approachable early bossing, Nex moves you into stronger equipment, and Vorago plus Nex: Angel of Death provide genuinely difficult end-game goals once the account is ready for them.
That gives Asgarnia something I value much more than a single broken training method: a reason to stay in the region for most of the League. The PvM does not suddenly become irrelevant once your first gear set is finished.
The supporting content is also unusually broad. Shattered Worlds provides a route into very fast Slayer experience through lamps, the Artisans' Workshop gives Smithing another home, the Arc covers several gathering skills, and the Invention Guild unlocks machines and other Invention systems that are difficult to replace if your build actually cares about that skill.
I especially like Asgarnia as a third pick for players who already have two progression-heavy regions. Instead of using the final slot to solve another spreadsheet problem, you get a region containing a large number of recognizable bosses and activities that you may actually want to spend the rest of the League doing.
Wilderness Is Excellent, but I Do Not Think It Is Mandatory
Wilderness has one of the best reward lists in the League, but I think calling it mandatory oversells how universally useful those rewards are. If you care about Dungeoneering, Elite Dungeons, primal gear, or several of the combat upgrades available there, Wilderness absolutely earns an A-tier position and can easily feel S-tier for that account.
Daemonheim is probably its biggest structural advantage. Access to Dungeoneering and tier 90 rewards gives Wilderness considerably more progression depth than simply being a PvM region, while primal ores also feed high-level equipment goals.
You also get the Abyss for Runecrafting, Chaos Altar for Prayer, Revenants, Corporeal Beast, Elite Dungeons, and an unusually easy achievement diary with a large experience reward. That is a strong collection of systems, but the value drops noticeably if Dungeoneering and Elite Dungeons are content you already know you do not want to spend time doing.
That is why I rank Wilderness below Desert rather than alongside it. Desert's strongest content is spread across more kinds of players, whereas Wilderness becomes disproportionately good for players who enjoy several specific systems.
Anachronia Is Better for Completionists Than It Is for Everyone Else
Anachronia may be the most misleading region in the League because its maximum value is ridiculous. Raksha gives access to Greater Chain, Greater Ricochet, and Divert, the Rex Matriarchs can provide completed best-in-slot rings, Elder God Arrows are available for Ranged, and Big Game Hunter adds both useful equipment and strong Hunter progression.
Then you reach Tier 7 and the region becomes an entirely different animal. Unlimited Advance Time can be combined with Dream of Iaia to repeatedly collect resources that convert into experience for Construction, Crafting, Herblore, Hunter, and Fishing, which makes Anachronia one of the strongest regions possible for pushing skills and League points far beyond the point where a casual account would normally stop.
That last part is exactly why I do not automatically put it in S Tier. If you want Dragon Cup or a pile of 200M skills, the Dream of Iaia interaction can justify the region almost by itself. If you intend to unlock Tier 7 and then mostly boss for fun, a huge portion of that theoretical advantage is solving a goal you never had.
Anachronia is therefore one of my favorite regions for a defined build and one of my least favorite regions to recommend blindly. Pick it because you want Raksha, Rex Matriarchs, Elder God Arrows, Big Game Hunter, or the late-game skilling abuse—not simply because a ranking told you it was the mathematically optimal third region.
Tirannwn Can Replace Several Weak Skills With One Strategy
Tirannwn is another region whose ranking changes dramatically depending on the relic setup. With Nature's Network, Prifddinas becomes one of the strongest general skilling engines available because harvesting during the Cywir Voice of Seren can spawn Guthixian butterflies that award experience to your lowest skill.
I think of that interaction less as “good Farming” and more as skill insurance. The benefit is not necessarily leveling the skills you already enjoy; it is having a way to push whatever ugly skill is currently sitting at the bottom of the account without needing to construct a completely separate training plan for it.
Golden Touch also has a useful route here because money can feed extremely fast Prayer training through Seren methods, while Crystal Singing provides straightforward access to useful weapons and tools in the tier 70 to 80 range.
The problem is that Tirannwn's strongest argument is still heavily centered on skilling. If your entire plan is combat after Tier 7, I would rather take Asgarnia or Anachronia unless there is a specific Tirannwn interaction your relic build needs.
Kandarin Is the Region You Pick for Systems, Not Spectacle
Kandarin is easy to underrate because its PvM list does not immediately compete with Desert or Asgarnia, but it contains several systems that can quietly complete a build. Ancient Invention is the obvious one, especially if maximizing perks matters to your end-game setup.
Player-Owned Farm gives you another strong Farming route, potion flasks improve supply management, the ZMI Altar offers a Runecrafting option, and Legiones can be fought without needing keystones for Ascension Crossbows.
I would therefore treat Kandarin almost like a support region. You do not pick it because it contains the largest collection of bosses; you pick it when the two regions you already chose created an account that would benefit significantly from Ancient Invention or one of its other utility systems.
That makes Kandarin better as a deliberate third pick than an early blind unlock. By the time the final slot arrives, you know whether those systems are actually missing from the account.
Morytania Has Great Individual Rewards but Less Account Coverage
Morytania is where my ranking starts dropping because the region has several very good things without quite having the same connective tissue as the regions above it. Araxxor provides tier 90 weapons across multiple styles, Rise of the Six gives strong augmentable shields, and Vyres can provide excellent Prayer and Firemaking experience.
Golden Touch also creates an interesting Morytania-specific advantage because stealing from the potion stall can provide a repeatable source of extreme potions. That can make the region considerably more attractive for a build already committed to Golden Touch.
The issue is not that Morytania lacks valuable rewards. It is that I find fewer situations where selecting it suddenly solves several unrelated account problems at once. If Araxxor, Vyres, or its other signature activities are things you genuinely enjoy, that is still more than enough reason to take it over a higher-ranked region you would barely use.
Fremennik Is Weak, but That Does Not Make It Completely Pointless
Fremennik is last on my general list because the major attractions are comparatively narrow: Dagannoth Kings, the Lunar Spellbook, and Astral Runecrafting do not compete with the amount of progression packed into most other regions.
There is one interesting argument for it, though. A region with a weaker headline reward pool can potentially still contain plenty of accessible tasks, and for a casual player who only needs enough points to reach Tier 7, the absolute maximum number of end-game rewards is not necessarily what matters.
I still would not recommend Fremennik for pure efficiency. I just think “never pick it under any circumstances” is too strong when the entire point of having three personal region slots is eventually deciding what content you actually want available on your account.
Best Three-Region Combinations in RS3 Leagues 2
I would not use one universal three-region setup because the third slot should change based on what you actually intend to do after the major relic tiers are unlocked.
Best all-around setup: Desert + Asgarnia + Wilderness
This is my favorite general combination because it gives you a huge PvM ladder, Dungeoneering, Elite Dungeons, Invention infrastructure, several strong skilling routes, and enough late-game bosses that reaching Tier 7 does not leave you wondering what the account is supposed to do next.
Best Dragon Cup setup: Desert + Wilderness + Anachronia
If points and extremely high skill totals are the actual goal, Anachronia becomes much harder to replace. The late-game Dream of Iaia interaction alongside its PvM rewards gives this combination an enormous ceiling.
Best skilling setup: Desert + Tirannwn + Anachronia
Tirannwn can attack your lowest skills through Nature's Network and Cywir butterflies, while Anachronia eventually opens the Dream of Iaia loop. Desert fills in a large amount of early progression and gives the account more combat content than a pure skilling setup would otherwise have.
Best PvM-for-fun setup: Desert + Asgarnia + whichever region has the bosses you actually want
This is the combination I think gets overlooked most often. Once Tier 7 is unlocked, League points beyond your personal goal have no inherent value unless you are chasing a trophy or ranking. At that point, picking Anachronia for a skilling method you dislike is worse than unlocking Morytania because you love Araxxor, Wilderness because you want Elite Dungeons, or even another technically weaker region containing content you will actually spend ten hours playing.
That is ultimately how I would approach regions in Equilibrium. Desert is the closest thing to a universal recommendation, while the value of almost every other region depends on what problem you want the slot to solve. Wilderness is not mandatory if you hate Dungeoneering, Anachronia is not mandatory if you do not care about Dragon Cup skilling, and Asgarnia deserves much more attention from players who simply want a large amount of good PvM after the progression grind is over.
