Pax Autocratica Best Weapons Tier List

Pax Autocratica Best Weapons Tier List

Pax Autocratica has enough going on during combat that I would not rank weapons purely by whatever has the biggest damage number. You are fighting alongside soldiers, Core Fragments can completely change how a weapon behaves, and some fights are full of smaller enemies while others are really about dealing with one heavily armored target without getting yourself killed in the process.

That is why my list leans toward weapons that are useful in more than one situation. I would rather carry something that works against normal groups, still helps against tougher enemies, and gives me several good Core directions than a weapon that looks ridiculous in the perfect scenario but feels awkward everywhere else.

If you are still getting used to how the colony, expeditions, soldiers, and resources all fit together, our Pax Autocratica tips guide covers the bigger progression decisions that matter outside of just picking a strong weapon.

Pax Autocratica Weapon Tier List

My top group is the Scourge Repeater, Voltaic Cleaver, and Obliterator Railgun. After that I would put the Rift Blade, Plasma Mace, Twin Fang Daggers, and Centurion Broadsword in A Tier, with the Auxiliary Bow, Imperial Gladius, and Legate's Halberd sitting a little lower.

S Tier: Scourge Repeater, Voltaic Cleaver, Obliterator Railgun

A Tier: Rift Blade, Plasma Mace, Twin Fang Daggers, Centurion Broadsword

B Tier: Auxiliary Bow, Imperial Gladius, Legate's Halberd

C Tier: Militia Spear, Rusty Iron Mace, Rusted Cleaver

I have the Scourge Repeater first mostly because I think it fits the way Pax Autocratica actually plays better than something like the Railgun. The Railgun can absolutely destroy the right target, but the Repeater keeps getting better in longer fights because its corrosion stacks increase the damage that comes afterward. When you already have soldiers shooting the same enemy with you, that matters quite a bit.

S Tier Weapons

The Scourge Repeater is my best overall weapon because I do not really have to build an expedition around making it work. It gives you sustained ranged damage, applies corrosion as you keep firing, and that corrosion makes later hits against the same target more effective. That is useful against normal enemies, but I like it even more against anything that survives long enough for several people in your squad to pile damage into it.

This is where I think it gets underrated compared to the Obliterator Railgun. The Railgun wins if the only question is how hard you can hit one armored target, while the Repeater is helping throughout the entire fight and does not require you to spend as much time lining up charged shots. Missile Core effects can also add things like knockback or splash, which gives the weapon another way to deal with enemies closing in on you.

The Voltaic Cleaver is my favorite melee weapon. Its chain lightning means you are not only damaging whatever is directly in front of you, which is a pretty big deal once fights turn into a pile of enemies running toward the same area. If you are already going to play aggressively and stay close to enemies, getting extra damage across the group makes more sense to me than using a melee weapon that only hits harder against one target.

It also has an obvious place in attack-speed builds. Fury Core effects reward consecutive hits, and the Cleaver already benefits from getting more attacks out because each one gives you another chance to spread that lightning around. I still would not rank it above the Repeater overall because melee is naturally putting you in more dangerous positions, but it is the weapon I would pick first if I wanted to build around close-range combat.

The Obliterator Railgun is the best weapon here for bosses and heavily armored enemies. It ignores armor and can pierce through several targets, so when you have enough room to charge it and actually land the shot, the damage potential is hard to argue with.

The reason I have it third instead of first is mostly comfort. Charge time matters a lot more when the battlefield gets messy, especially if enemies are already pushing through your soldiers and reaching you. Knockback from a Missile Core can help cover that weakness, but now you are spending part of the build making the weapon easier to use. Against a boss where your squad is keeping pressure off you, though, I would happily take the Railgun over almost anything else.

A Tier Weapons

The Rift Blade is probably the weapon I would move into S Tier for somebody who likes constantly moving through fights. Its teleport strike lets you skip the normal process of running through a frontline and just get onto the enemy you actually care about, while kills can reduce the cooldown and keep that movement going.

I keep it just outside the top tier because the weapon feels better when there are enemies available to kill and keep the loop moving. Against a boss or another fight where you are spending much longer on one target, that advantage is not always doing as much for you. Still, being able to instantly close distance is useful enough that I would take it over most normal melee weapons.

The Plasma Mace is one I like more than its raw damage would probably suggest. Armor shred is useful because you are rarely fighting completely alone, so making one enemy easier for your entire squad to damage can be worth more than simply adding another weapon that only improves your own numbers.

Knockback also gives the Mace an actual reason to exist beyond damage. If a group is crowding your ranged soldiers or you simply need a little more space, pushing something away can fix the fight in a way that another heavy swing cannot. I would especially like this on a more frontline-focused setup where your soldiers are providing a lot of the damage behind you.

The Twin Fang Daggers are fast enough that I think they become more interesting once you stop looking at their damage per hit. Bleed can stack as you keep attacking, and the attack speed gives you a lot of chances to trigger anything in the Core setup that cares about repeated hits.

They are much worse when the enemy keeps forcing you away, because you need enough time on the target for that fast attack pattern to actually matter. When you can stay close, though, I would rather use them than several heavier weapons that look stronger before the rest of the build is included.

The Centurion Broadsword is the boring good option, and I mean that in a positive way. It has solid physical damage and does not need one very specific Core interaction before it starts feeling useful, which makes it a good weapon while you are still figuring out what the rest of an expedition build is going to become.

Once I had enough Core Fragments to lean hard into corrosion, lightning, Bleed, or another mechanic, I would probably replace it. Before then, there is nothing wrong with using a weapon that just works without asking much from the rest of the setup.

B Tier Weapons

The Auxiliary Bow is probably the weapon I would take if I wanted a simple ranged option without dealing with the Railgun's charge time. It keeps you away from the worst part of the fight and can work with elemental or status effects, but it does not have the same obvious thing that pushes the Repeater or Railgun into the top tier.

There is still real value in being able to stay at range while your soldiers deal with everything in front of you. Not every run needs to be built around squeezing out the absolute highest possible damage, and a weapon that lets you play safely can end up feeling better than something technically stronger.

The Imperial Gladius is fast and has the kind of low recovery that makes attacking and getting back out of danger feel much better than heavier weapons. Armor penetration helps it stay relevant against tougher enemies as well, so I do not think it is weak at all.

I just do not see as much of a reason to build around it. The Voltaic Cleaver spreads damage, the Rift Blade gives you teleport mobility, the Plasma Mace shreds armor for everybody, and the Daggers give you rapid hits and Bleed. The Gladius is good at being a normal fast melee weapon, which puts it behind weapons that change what you can actually do in the fight.

The Legate's Halberd gets a similar placement for me. Reach is useful, especially when you do not want to be standing directly inside every group you attack, and that can make the Halberd much more comfortable than shorter melee weapons.

With that said, I would rather have the Cleaver once enemies start clustering because chain lightning gives me a better answer to multiple targets. The Halberd is still a reasonable option if you want melee without being right on top of everything.

C Tier Weapons

The Militia Spear and Rusty Iron Mace are both fine early weapons because flat physical damage is plenty useful before stronger Core setups and better equipment start defining the account. You do not need to immediately throw them away just because they are starter options.

The problem is that both are eventually competing against weapons with armor penetration, mobility, status effects, knockback, chain lightning, and much better Core interactions. At that point, raw early damage stops being enough of a reason to keep them around.

The Rusted Cleaver is in basically the same position. It does what you need it to do near the beginning, but once the Voltaic Cleaver and the other stronger melee options become available, there is very little reason for me to stay attached to it.

What Is the Best Melee Weapon in Pax Autocratica?

I would go with the Voltaic Cleaver. Chain lightning is useful in the kind of crowded fights Pax Autocratica regularly throws at you, and attack-speed Core effects give you an obvious way to push the weapon even further without changing what already makes it good.

The Rift Blade would be my second choice if you care more about mobility than group damage. I would take the Plasma Mace when I wanted to play around my squad and make armored targets easier for everyone to kill, while the Twin Fang Daggers make more sense for a build focused on hitting as often as possible.

What Is the Best Ranged Weapon in Pax Autocratica?

The Scourge Repeater is my overall ranged pick, with the Obliterator Railgun taking the bossing spot. The Repeater is simply useful in more normal situations, and corrosion becomes even better when several soldiers are attacking the same enemy instead of you being responsible for all of the damage yourself.

I would swap to the Railgun when the fight is mostly about one armored target and I know I will have enough space to charge shots without constantly getting interrupted. The Auxiliary Bow is the safer middle ground if you want straightforward ranged combat without building around either of those mechanics.

The main thing I would not do is pick a weapon from this list and assume it stays in that exact tier no matter what Core Fragments you find. A fast melee weapon becomes much more appealing when the run starts rewarding repeated hits, knockback can make the Railgun considerably easier to use, and a weapon that looks average by itself can suddenly make far more sense once two or three effects are working around it.

For a completely fresh run, though, I would start with the Scourge Repeater for general use, the Voltaic Cleaver for melee, and the Obliterator Railgun when I specifically wanted something built around killing the biggest target on the screen.
