Outgrowing your motel room? The Sweatshop is your first real upgrade. It’s cheap, sketchy, and ready for business.
Here’s how to find it, buy it, and make the most of every dusty corner.

Where to Find the Sweatshop
The Sweatshop apartment is located above the Fat Dragon Chinese Restaurant, just a few steps away from your starting motel room.
From the front of your motel, look slightly left—there’s a staircase tucked beside the restaurant. Walk up to the door and knock.
You’ll meet Mrs. Ling, the very chill landlord who’s somehow okay with whatever it is you’re about to do upstairs.
Cost: $800 cash
Unlocks after: Uncle Nelson tells you to get a bigger place
Moving In
Once you buy the Sweatshop, enter through the alley behind the building and climb the stairs to your new pad. It’s a bit grimy, completely unfurnished, and has all the charm of a broken mop bucket—but it’s double the size of your motel room.
You’ll need to manually move your furniture from the motel. There’s no fancy moving service. It’s just you, your inventory, and some questionable back pain.
How to Use the Sweatshop
This place is your first real opportunity to scale up.
Grow Operation: Set up around eight Grow Tents and a Packaging Station
Worker Slot: Only supports 1 employee, so make it count
Ideal Use: Early growing room or your first compact base.
Once you unlock your next major base (like the Barn), you can repurpose the Sweatshop for smaller batches or backup storage.
Tips for the Sweatshop Life
Don’t bother decorating.
Keep the floor clean because trash buildup can actually cause FPS drops.
Use it for overflow. Once you're operating from the Barn or Docks, this can be a great satellite base.
Final Blurb
The Sweatshop above the Chinese restaurant might not look like much, but it’s the first real step taking things to the next level. It’s tight, it’s ugly, and it smells vaguely like burnt dumplings—but it works. Just don’t forget to tip Mrs. Ling. Or don’t. She’s seen worse.
