Witchspire Activate The Bridge Guide: All Root Locations
To activate the bridge in Witchspire, you need to activate all three roots connected to the Isle Bridge. Each root leads to a pedestal, and the bridge only activates after you stand on all three pedestals. How To Activate The Bridge In Witchspire
To activate the Isle Bridge in Witchspire, follow each of the three roots to its matching pedestal and stand on the pedestal until the root activates. Once all three roots are activated, return to the Isle Bridge and the spectral bridge will appear.
This is part of the Level 17 Main Quest called Activate the Bridge. The confusing part is not the mechanic itself. The confusing part is that roots are tangled all over the region, and several paths can make it feel like you are walking in circles.
The simple rule is this: do not just follow roots visually and leave. Each root has a pedestal at the end, and the bridge does not count that root until you stand on the pedestal.
| Root | General Location | Main Requirement |
|---|---|---|
| First Root | Below and left of the Isle Bridge start | Use your Broom and stand on the nearby pedestal. |
| Second Root | Far south of the Isle Bridge on a purple island | Parkour up, use double-jumps, or build stairs. |
| Third Root | Eastell / east side of Mira Isles | Go through R'hyrrgar's Stronghold and reach the top pedestal. |
Activate The Bridge Quest Overview
The Activate the Bridge quest sends you across Mira Isles to activate three roots. These roots power the Isle Bridge, which opens the path forward once all three are active.
At the bridge, you will see three colored pedestals. Those represent the three roots you need to activate. The first one is close enough that the game almost points you at it. The second and third are much easier to lose because the region has several vines, islands, and vertical paths that all start to look the same after a while.
| Goal | What It Means |
|---|---|
| Find all three roots | Each root is tied to one bridge pedestal. |
| Stand on each root pedestal | This is what actually activates the root. |
| Return to the Isle Bridge | The spectral bridge appears after all three roots are active. |
If you are stuck, open the map and look for purple island areas with grey circle-like markers attached to them. Those are the places to investigate for root objectives.
First Root Location
The first root is near the beginning of the Isle Bridge. Stand near the three colored pedestals, walk toward the edge of the bridge, then look down to the left. You should see the first root below.
Use your Broom to fly down to the nearby island and find the pedestal connected to the root. Stand on the pedestal until the root activates. Watch out for Al'uunian Vanguards in the area, because they can make this simple step annoying if you land carelessly.
| First Root Step | What To Do |
|---|---|
| 1 | Start at the Isle Bridge with the three colored pedestals. |
| 2 | Go to the bridge edge and look down to the left. |
| 3 | Fly down with your Broom. |
| 4 | Stand on the root pedestal to activate it. |
Do not leave as soon as you see the root. The pedestal is the important part. If you skip the pedestal, the root is not activated, and the bridge will not be finished later.
Second Root Location
The second root is far south of the Isle Bridge on a purple island. After activating the first root, follow the bridge path with the Al'uunian Vanguards, then go through the cave with Taileafs. Once you come out, start following the green pulsing root path south.
This second root is one of the easiest parts of the quest to get lost on because several roots visually lead back toward the Isle Bridge. Keep pushing south and look for a purple island with a grey circle-style marker on the map.
To reach the second root pedestal, you will need to climb up the purple island. Having two double-jumps unlocked makes this much easier. If the parkour is giving you problems, you can also build your own staircase with wood instead of pretending the jump system is your friend.
| Second Root Problem | Solution |
|---|---|
| You keep following roots back to the bridge | Use the map and head south toward the purple island marker. |
| You cannot reach the top | Unlock two double-jumps or build a staircase. |
| You found the root but it did not count | Find and stand on the pedestal at the end. |
Once you reach the top, stand on the pedestal to activate the second root. That gives you two out of three roots for the Isle Bridge.
Third Root Location
The third root is back toward where you first entered the region, on the eastern side of Mira Isles in Eastell. To reach it, go through R'hyrrgar's Stronghold and continue past R'hyrrgar himself.
This route has some parkour, but it is less annoying than it looks because the Froblins have built stairs and platforms through the area. Follow those upward until you reach the top, then stand on the pedestal to activate the third root.
| Third Root Step | What To Do |
|---|---|
| 1 | Travel back toward Eastell on the eastern side of Mira Isles. |
| 2 | Enter and pass through R'hyrrgar's Stronghold. |
| 3 | Use the Froblin stairs and platforms to climb upward. |
| 4 | Stand on the pedestal at the top to activate the third root. |
After this pedestal activates, all three roots are done. You can now return to the Isle Bridge and continue the main quest.
What To Do After Activating The Bridge
After activating all three roots, return to the Isle Bridge. A spectral bridge should appear, letting you cross and continue deeper into the region.
Before crossing, try to have 4 out of 5 Orbs for the Mira Isles Flight Pillar. If you cross too early without enough Orbs, you may not get very far before needing to backtrack anyway.
After crossing the bridge, head toward the ruins ahead. Look for a tower with a prismatic glass platform beneath it. This acts as an elevator. Wait for it to arrive, then ride it up to continue.
| After The Bridge | Why It Matters |
|---|---|
| Return to the Isle Bridge | The spectral bridge appears after all three roots are active. |
| Check your Mira Isles Orbs | Having 4 out of 5 before crossing makes progression smoother. |
| Use the prismatic elevator | This takes you up into the ruins after the bridge. |
| Find the final Orb | The area after the bridge contains the final Orb for the Flight Pillar. |
| Activate the Nox Pillars | Use a Nox Familiar to open the chest reward nearby. |
You will also find another bridge that leads toward the next objective and eventually continues the route toward Shuddersands.
Activate The Bridge Mistakes To Avoid
The biggest mistake in the Activate the Bridge quest is following the root but not standing on the pedestal. The root itself is not enough. The pedestal is what actually counts.
| Mistake | Better Move |
|---|---|
| Leaving before standing on the pedestal | Wait until the root activates before moving on. |
| Following random vines without checking the map | Look for purple islands with grey circle markers. |
| Trying the second root without enough mobility | Unlock two double-jumps or build a staircase. |
| Ignoring enemies near root paths | Clear or avoid Al'uunians and Froblins before climbing. |
| Crossing the bridge unprepared | Try to have 4 out of 5 Mira Isles Flight Pillar Orbs first. |
If you feel lost, stop chasing every vine you see and use the map instead. The quest is much easier when you treat the three roots as three destination markers, not one giant spaghetti puzzle made by an angry tree.
Final Blurb
To activate the bridge in Witchspire, activate the first root below the Isle Bridge, the second root far south on the purple island, and the third root in Eastell through R'hyrrgar's Stronghold. Each root requires you to stand on its pedestal before it counts.
Once all three roots are active, return to the Isle Bridge and cross the spectral bridge. Before moving too far ahead, make sure you have most of the Mira Isles Flight Pillar Orbs, because the next area continues the route toward the final Orb, a Nox Familiar puzzle, and the path forward to Shuddersands.
