Can You Change the Entry Room
Right now, the entry room cannot be moved, deleted, or replaced once it’s set. This small area acts as the anchor for your entire layout. Every other room must connect to it directly or through a chain of rooms that trace back to it. Because of that rule, you can’t freely swap it with another room type or location without first clearing everything else attached to it.
You can, however, remove and replace Room 1, which is the first room directly connected to the entry. To do that, your house must be almost empty. You’ll need to delete every room connected to Room 1 until it’s isolated. Then, while standing in the entry space itself, you can remove Room 1 and build a different one in its place.
Saving and Rebuilding
There isn’t yet a true “save room” or “move layout” feature in housing. Once you delete a connected room, all its decor and layout are lost unless Blizzard adds a blueprint or save option in the future. Some players mention temporary saves when moving houses between neighborhoods, but those are more like relocation backups, not proper room saves.
If you want to experiment, take screenshots of your current setup before clearing it. You can rebuild more easily later using those as a visual guide.

Many players want the ability to move rooms freely or swap entry points without losing progress. A system with an “Apply” button that only confirms valid layouts has been suggested by players across multiple threads. Until then, it’s best to plan your entry and first few rooms carefully before decorating heavily.
