The Redacted door code in CRACK is a randomized six-digit password hidden throughout the laboratory. There isn't a single combination that works for everyone, so you'll need to find the numbers in your own game. The clues are only visible with the UV Flashlight, and each one reveals where its digits belong in the final code.

How Does the Redacted Door Code Work in CRACK?
The password has six positions, with two digits hidden at each of three locations. The numbers themselves change between playthroughs, but the places where you find them stay the same.
Each clue shows more than just a pair of numbers. It also indicates their positions in the complete password. This means you cannot simply put the first two numbers you discover at the beginning of the code.
Think of the password as six empty spaces:
_ _ _ _ _ _
Whenever you uncover a clue, fill in the positions indicated by its markings. Leave the other spaces blank until you find their corresponding numbers elsewhere.
I'd record the full six-position arrangement as I go instead of writing down three disconnected pairs. That way, you won't have to revisit every clue to work out the order later.
How to Get the UV Flashlight in CRACK
Before searching for the code, you need the UV Flashlight hidden in a ventilation duct above the Break Room. The hatch is elevated and secured with bolts, so reaching it requires scaffolding and a Hammer.
You'll need Custom Scaffolding, which becomes available through the main Work Orders. If you haven't unlocked it yet, continue progressing through your assignments before attempting the vent.
- Go to the Break Room and locate the ventilation hatch above the room.
- Use your Toolbox to construct scaffolding that reaches the hatch.
- Climb onto the platform with your Hammer equipped.
- Aim at the hatch's bolts and right-click with the Hammer to remove them.
- Enter the ventilation duct and collect the UV Flashlight.
The UV Flashlight reveals writing made with material from the egg. These markings are difficult to see under normal lighting, which is why searching the walls without the flashlight won't give you the numbers you need.
Where Are the Six Door Code Digits in CRACK?
All six digits are hidden at three fixed locations. You can investigate them in any order, and each location provides exactly two numbers.
The Three Places to Check
- Redacted Door: Shine the UV Flashlight on the wall directly above the keypad. This reveals two of the six digits.
- Breakroom Expansion: Enter the expanded Breakroom containing the slot machines. Turn right after entering and examine the wall with the UV Flashlight to reveal another pair.
- Vehicle Bay: Head inside the bay and inspect the wall on your right. The remaining pair of digits appears when illuminated with UV light.
If you can't access the Breakroom Expansion yet, complete the Burst Open an Artery Sack Work Order to open that area. Don't confuse it with the original Break Room where you found the ventilation hatch.
As you discover each marking, transfer the numbers into their indicated positions. Once you've visited all three locations, every space in your six-digit password should be filled.
Why the Order of the Numbers Matters
One easy mistake is treating the clues as three consecutive two-digit codes. Their discovery order doesn't determine their order in the password.
For example, if a clue identifies a number as belonging in the fifth position, it goes fifth regardless of whether you found it first or last.
The position markings are part of the solution. Ignoring them can leave you with all six correct numbers arranged into an incorrect password.
How to Enter the Code and Unlock the Redacted Door
Return to the Redacted door once you've recorded all six digits. Interact with the keypad and enter the completed password from left to right.
If the keypad rejects your code, I wouldn't waste time trying random combinations. Check whether you copied every number correctly and placed it in its intended position.
There are three common things worth checking:
- Missing digits: You need both numbers from all three locations.
- Wrong arrangement: Check the positions shown by the UV markings rather than the order in which you found them.
- Someone else's password: Codes are randomized between playthroughs, so a shared combination may not work for you.
What's Behind the Redacted Door?
Entering the correct code opens a restricted laboratory room containing computers, surveillance equipment, and additional records about the facility. It's an optional area worth exploring if you're interested in uncovering more of the laboratory's history.
The Redacted door isn't required for the second ending. That involves a separate passage blocked by wooden boards, which can be opened using the Hammer.
For the Redacted keypad itself, you only need the UV Flashlight and the three sets of hidden numbers. As long as you place all six digits in their marked positions, you'll have the correct password for your playthrough.
