To rotate items in Probably Stolen, pick up an item and scroll your mouse wheel up or down while dragging it. This changes its orientation, allowing you to fit items into different spaces in your inventory. It's especially useful when arranging larger objects or trying to make room in a crowded storage grid.

How to Rotate Items in Probably Stolen
Item rotation is handled directly through the mouse rather than a separate inventory menu. Follow these steps:
- Open the inventory containing the item you want to rotate.
- Click and drag the item to pick it up.
- While still dragging, scroll the mouse wheel up or down to rotate it.
- Position the rotated item in the available inventory space and release it.
You can change the item's orientation before placing it, which is helpful when its original arrangement doesn't fit the space you have available.
Why Can't I Rotate Items in Probably Stolen?
If scrolling isn't rotating your item, make sure you're actively dragging it. The mouse wheel rotation control works while an item is being held, rather than simply hovering over an object in your inventory.
Pick the item up again, keep it attached to your cursor, and scroll before releasing it. This is the key distinction if you've been trying to rotate items without moving them first.
Inventory Organization Tips
Rotation is particularly useful because Probably Stolen uses grid-based inventory management. An item may not fit into one arrangement of empty cells but can fit after changing its orientation.
There are also two other inventory controls worth knowing:
- Move multiple items: Drag a selection box around several items to move them together. Hold Shift when dragging the selection into another inventory for more precise placement.
- Sort your inventory: Right-click a grid inventory to open its context menu and access the sorting option.
I'd try rotating larger items before rearranging an entire inventory. Sometimes changing one item's orientation is enough to free up the space you need, especially when managing several containers or a crowded shop.
