The Trident in Queen's Domain is a Pierce weapon found outside Obmuer Temple, but three similarly named Trident Keys also unlock hidden areas inside. Here's where to find the weapon, collect all three keys, and open the temple's locked gates.

Where to Find the Trident in Queen's Domain
The Trident weapon is located outside the main entrance to Obmuer Temple. You can pick it up while exploring the flooded approach, before entering the temple itself.
As you progress through the area, you'll eventually reach a stone ramp leading up from the water. Follow the elevated route past the skeletal enemies and continue toward the temple entrance.
Look for a statue near the path. The Trident is resting at its base, close to the entrance where you'll eventually use the four Triangular Slates.
You don't need any Trident Keys to collect the weapon. Simply interact with it once you've reached the statue.
I'd pick it up before entering Obmuer Temple, even if you're already carrying another spear. It provides an additional Pierce weapon with a useful defensive attack.
All Three Trident Key Locations in Queen's Domain
Inside Obmuer Temple, certain doors use Trident Keys instead of ordinary switches. There are three named keys, and you'll need all of them to access one of the temple's optional treasure areas.
| Trident Key | Location |
|---|---|
| Sapphire | Embedded in a wall in the early flooded cavern inside Obmuer Temple. |
| Emerald | Resting on a rock near the skeletal enemies and staircase deeper inside the temple. |
| Amethyst | Purchased from Umbada for 15 Ancient Coins after unlocking Golden Duck Figurine shop stock. |
Trident Key Sapphire
After opening Obmuer Temple's main entrance, work your way down into the interior until you reach an explorer's note near a flowing-water ledge.
Drop into the cavern below and clear out the nearby Glaucusions. Search the wall near where you landed to find the Sapphire Trident Key embedded in the stone.
You'll notice two locked gates in this area. The smaller gate requires one Trident Key, while the other has three separate key slots.
Use the Sapphire Key on the single-key gate to continue progressing through the temple. You can return to the three-key gate later when you've collected the remaining keys.
Trident Key Emerald
The Emerald Key is found farther into Obmuer Temple, after navigating additional flooded passages and Wind Dash sections.
You'll eventually encounter a staircase guarded by Skeletal Soldiers and Skeletal Arbelists. Once the area is safe, look for the Emerald Key resting on a nearby rock.
This key is used to access a gate near the Sacred Cistern Crystal Monument.
One useful detail is that Trident Keys can be retrieved from certain door mechanisms after you've opened the route. Remember to reclaim them when you no longer need the door held open, since the later three-key gate requires all three keys together.
Trident Key Amethyst
The Amethyst Key is different because its confirmed acquisition method involves Umbada's Trading Outpost rather than finding it in the temple.
It costs 15 Ancient Coins and becomes available with the Golden Duck Figurine shop inventory.
If you've reached the three-key gate with Sapphire and Emerald but can't find a third key nearby, you aren't necessarily overlooking something in the room. The Amethyst Key is tied to later progression.
I'd continue exploring other areas, unlock the expanded shop stock, and return to Obmuer Temple once you can purchase it.
How to Open the Three-Trident-Key Gate
The three-key gate is located in the same early flooded section of Obmuer Temple where you discover the Sapphire Key.
Unlike the single-key doors used to access new routes, this gate is a separate treasure objective that requires Sapphire, Emerald, and Amethyst at the same time.
To open it:
- Collect the Sapphire Key in the early flooded cavern.
- Obtain the Emerald Key deeper inside the temple.
- Retrieve any keys you've left in door mechanisms after opening the necessary shortcuts.
- Purchase the Amethyst Key once Umbada's Golden Duck Figurine inventory is unlocked.
- Return to the three-slot gate and insert all three keys.
What's Behind the Three-Key Gate?
One of the important rewards behind the locked gate is the Engraved Halberd, found inside a treasure chest.
The weapon has 11 Power, average attack speed, and combines Pierce with Slash damage. That gives it more damage-type flexibility than the ordinary Trident.
It's a worthwhile reward for players who want a weapon that covers multiple enemy weaknesses, particularly if they're still using separate weapons for Slash and Pierce attacks.
Since obtaining the Amethyst Key requires later progression, I wouldn't spend time repeatedly searching the early temple for an immediate way through this gate. Remember its location and return once your key collection is complete.
Trident Keys vs. Triangular Slates in Queen's Domain
Obmuer Temple actually uses two different sets of items to unlock doors, which can make progression confusing.
The main entrance requires four Triangular Slates collected throughout the flooded exterior area. These are separate from the three Trident Keys found and used inside the temple.
| Item | Required For |
|---|---|
| 4 Triangular Slates | Opening the main Obmuer Temple entrance. |
| Trident Keys | Opening specific interior gates and the optional three-key treasure room. |
If you're still outside the temple looking at a door with four slots, your objective is to find the Triangular Slates.
If you're already inside and dealing with gates that have one, two, or three key sockets, those use Trident Keys instead.
Keeping this distinction in mind can save you from searching the wrong area for the wrong item.
Is the Trident Worth Using in Queen's Domain?
The Trident is a reasonable upgrade if you want a stronger Pierce weapon with a retreating attack, but it isn't automatically better than every earlier spear.
| Stat | Trident | Rusted Spear |
|---|---|---|
| Power | 8 | 5 |
| Speed | Average | Fast |
| Damage Type | Pierce | Pierce |
| Secondary Attack | Backward-dashing stab | Backward-dashing stab |
The Trident has higher starting Power, while the Rusted Spear attacks faster and has a confirmed evolution into Jigeki's Serpent Thrust, which gains a charged poison attack.
I'd use the Trident if you want immediate Pierce damage without needing to develop another weapon first. However, if you've already invested time into leveling the Rusted Spear, continuing toward its evolution may be more rewarding.
Both weapons benefit from careful Power Meter management, since attacking with an exhausted meter significantly reduces damage.
For more combat and progression advice, our Queen's Domain Tips Guide covers weapon choices, early upgrades, and exploration.
For most players, the Trident weapon is a simple pickup near Obmuer Temple's entrance, while collecting all three Trident Keys is a longer objective. Grab the weapon when you first reach the area, use Sapphire and Emerald to progress through the temple, and return for the three-key gate once you can obtain Amethyst.
