Getting stuck in a cave in Queen's Domain doesn't always mean you need to reload an earlier save. Some exits are hidden behind ordinary-looking walls, while deeper areas require a specific escape route. Here's how to get out of the Chicken Roast cave and Forgotten Dungeon.

Which Cave Are You Stuck In?
There are two easily confused situations in Queen's Domain. Both involve dropping into areas where the way back isn't immediately obvious, but their solutions are different.
| Where You're Stuck | What to Look For |
|---|---|
| Cave near the first Mimic | A Chicken Roast, a skeleton on the floor, and a hidden wall. |
| Forgotten Dungeon / Pit of Despair | Prison cells, a burning brazier, and an escape item beyond a gap. |
If you're standing in the cave with the Chicken Roast, the hidden wall is the important discovery. If you've already descended into the prison-like dungeon, you'll need to find another route.
How to Escape the Chicken Roast Cave in Queen's Domain
The Chicken Roast cave is reached by descending the cliff near your first Mimic encounter. Inside, you can collect a Chicken Roast that provides a permanent maximum-health bonus.
The problem comes afterward. The drop is too high to climb back up normally, and the nearby walls don't make the route forward obvious.
Find the Hidden Door Near the Skeleton
To progress beyond the cave, look for a skeleton lying on the floor with its arm pointing toward a nearby wall.
- Locate the skeleton on the cave floor.
- Check the direction its arm is pointing.
- Follow the short tunnel toward the wall in that direction.
- Stand close to the wall and press E, the default interaction key on PC.
- The hidden door should open, revealing the passage beyond it.
The important detail is that the hidden wall may not make your crosshair light up, even when you're looking directly at the correct spot.
Don't rely entirely on the interaction indicator. Try pressing the action key near the wall even if nothing appears on your screen.
Why the Exit Is So Easy to Miss
Most interactive objects in Queen's Domain provide feedback through the crosshair. Hidden doors don't always follow that rule.
Instead, the game may use nearby environmental clues, such as the skeleton pointing in a particular direction, to indicate where you should investigate.
I'd check those clues before assuming an area requires another movement upgrade. In this case, the problem isn't necessarily how far you can jump, but finding the concealed interaction.
Be aware that opening this passage doesn't mean every danger is behind you. It leads into further underground areas, where the enemies can be substantially tougher than those near the starting island.
How to Escape the Forgotten Dungeon and Pit of Despair
Another common problem happens when players descend into the Forgotten Dungeon earlier than intended and save at the Pit of Despair Crystal Monument.
This can leave you facing powerful enemies while your usual Travel Crystal Fragment only returns you to a save point inside the dungeon.
Fortunately, there's a route toward a Wing Stone Fragment that can be used to leave the area.
Where to Find the Wing Stone Fragment
Start at the Pit of Despair save point and follow these directions:
- Travel through the first two blocks of prison cells.
- Continue until you reach a burning brazier.
- Turn left at the brazier and head up the slope.
- Stay along the left wall as you continue forward.
- Look for an opening in the wall leading into another cell block.
- You'll encounter a skeleton armed with a gun near a gap.
- Jump and dash across the gap, then turn right.
- Look for a Wing Stone Fragment sitting on a table.
- Collect the fragment and use it to access the Wing Altar travel network and leave the dungeon.
You don't need to defeat the dungeon's boss just to follow this escape route.
However, crossing the gap requires sufficient movement ability. If you entered the area before obtaining the necessary traversal options, the available information doesn't establish a reliable alternative for that particular jump.
What If the Dungeon Enemies Are Too Strong?
If you've arrived underleveled, I'd focus on reaching the escape item rather than attempting to fight every enemy.
The Forgotten Dungeon contains dangerous opponents, including enemies capable of dealing significant ranged damage.
The route to the Wing Stone Fragment is particularly useful because it gives you a possible way out without having to clear the entire area first.
Once you've escaped, you can return later with improved weapons, more health, and additional Wind Dash charges.
What If You Already Saved While Stuck?
Saving inside a difficult area can complicate your escape because Queen's Domain doesn't provide automatic checkpoints.
A Travel Crystal Fragment returns you to your last Crystal Monument, so it won't help you leave if that monument is also inside the area you're trying to escape.
A Wing Stone Fragment works differently. It allows travel through the Wing Altar network, making it a more useful option for escaping an isolated location once you have access to a destination.
What About Getting Stuck in Verdant Hollow?
Verdant Hollow is another area where descending too early can leave you far from the route you entered.
If you've saved at the Cliff's Edge Crystal Monument after dropping down the well, look for the area's teleporter or use a Wing Stone Fragment to leave.
The precise route to that teleporter isn't established here, so it's worth avoiding further one-way drops until you know how to return.
How to Avoid Getting Trapped Again
Before descending into unfamiliar caves, I'd recommend checking whether you have a travel item available and considering whether your current equipment is sufficient for the enemies below.
It's also worth examining suspicious walls and nearby environmental clues before assuming a path is permanently blocked.

If you're stuck in the Chicken Roast cave, your first step should be finding the skeleton and interacting with the hidden wall. If you're trapped deeper in the Pit of Despair, look for the Wing Stone Fragment beyond the prison cells. Both situations have a route forward, although reaching it may depend on which movement abilities you've unlocked.
