Valor Mortis Achievement Guide

Valor Mortis has achievements tied to nearly every major part of the game, from bosses and side quests to weapon upgrades, collectibles, movement challenges, and highly specific combat feats. Some will unlock naturally while pushing through the story, but full completion requires much more deliberate cleanup, especially for the achievements built around particular weapons, status effects, and one-life requirements.

All Valor Mortis Achievements

Valor Mortis' achievement list mixes straightforward boss kills and quest completions with full collection requirements and challenge-based unlocks. The easiest way to approach the list is to separate the achievements that come from normal completion from the ones that require a specific setup.

Valor Mortis Story and Boss Achievements

The most direct achievements come from defeating major bosses and continuing through the game's core encounters. These include In His Own Image for the Entity, Torn Banner for General Lothaire, Ultima Ratio Regum for The Iron Marshall, Not a Cat Person for the Sphinx, Quixotry for the Slaughtermill, My Dying Bride for the Bride, True Oath for Justicar Aurelius, Lament of the Limbs for Experiment 83, Coup de Grace for the Orphan, and Behemoth for Nephtis Superioris.

Birdwatcher is slightly different because it requires you to rendezvous with the Shrike rather than defeating a named target. Statue of Insanity is also tied to a specific encounter, but instead of simply winning the fight, you need to fully lock Sergeant Gaspard 'Cannonhand' Dubois in Stasis.

Valor Mortis Quest Achievements

Six achievements are tied directly to named quests, so these are worth keeping in mind while exploring instead of treating side content as something to ignore until the end.

  • We Wear the Same Colours — Complete the Oathbound quest.
  • A Bitter Cure — Complete the Laudanum quest.
  • Blood and Wine — Complete the Curious Case of Seamus Diggory quest.
  • Hand in the Jar — Complete the Deserter quest.
  • Aggressive Reconnaissance — Complete the Unheard Farewell quest.
  • The Book of Beasts — Complete the Monster Hunt quest.

If you are aiming for every achievement, clearing these quests as they become available makes more sense than leaving all of them for a final sweep, particularly because the wider list already asks you to explore heavily for weapons, Transmutations, Ambers, and Ova.

Collectible and Upgrade Achievements

The longest-term achievements are likely to be the ones tied to full collections and equipment investment. Ambersmith requires every Amber, Bring My Ova Back to Me requires every Ova, and Arsenal Absolute asks you to unlock every Weapon and Transmutation.

Three more achievements only require fully upgrading one item from each major equipment category:

  • Gun of Glory — Max out one Firearm.
  • Transmutation Artifex — Max out one Transmutation.
  • Bladesmith — Max out one Melee Weapon.

You do not need to fully upgrade every weapon for those three achievements. The broader completion requirement is Arsenal Absolute, which cares about unlocking the full arsenal rather than maxing each individual item.

Valor Mortis Combat Achievements

The combat achievements are where most of the deliberate setup comes in. Several require multiple enemies to be lined up for a single attack, while others test accuracy, movement, defensive timing, or status effects.

Aerial Annihilation combines a wall jump with a headshot, Windhover requires three Pistol kills while aiming in mid-air, and God's Trigger asks for ten consecutive headshots or Weak Point hits without a miss. Symphony of Steel takes the same consistency approach defensively, requiring ten Parries without taking damage.

The multi-target achievements are more weapon-specific. Scattershot needs five kills with one Blunderbuss shot, Hood-Snatcher requires three decapitations from a single Claymore attack, and Flaming Feast needs four enemies ignited from one Flamethrower use.

Abyssal Eviction is an environmental kill rather than a normal damage check, requiring Shield Bash to send an enemy into the abyss. Fight Fire With Fire also revolves around a particular situation, asking you to ignite an enemy while your own character is Ignited.

Valor Mortis Achievements to Plan Ahead For

Jackknife is the achievement most worth planning around because it requires you to deal damage with every Melee Weapon, Firearm, and Transmutation without dying. It is much easier to approach once you have already built out most or all of your arsenal, rather than trying to remember which equipment has been used across normal play.

Ambersmith, Bring My Ova Back to Me, and Arsenal Absolute are also natural long-term goals. Exploring thoroughly as you play reduces how much backtracking you need once the story and boss achievements are out of the way.

Several of the stranger Bronze achievements are better treated as intentional cleanup. Mind the Gap requires you to die by falling into the abyss, Rookie Master requires trying to use an empty Ferrofluid Flask, and In the Nick of Time requires reaching a Lantern below 20% Health with no Flasks remaining. None of those conditions are something you need to force during normal play.

Best Way to Get All Valor Mortis Achievements

The cleanest completion route is to focus first on normal exploration, bosses, quests, and collecting equipment. Pick up Ambers and Ova whenever you find them, complete the named side quests, and continue unlocking Weapons and Transmutations rather than trying to grind every combat challenge immediately.

As stronger equipment and more of the arsenal become available, knock out the weapon-specific achievements when a good enemy group or arena presents itself. Multi-kill requirements such as Scattershot, Hood-Snatcher, and Flaming Feast become much easier when you deliberately group enemies instead of hoping they happen during normal combat.

Leave Jackknife and any remaining situational achievements for dedicated cleanup once you have access to the equipment they require. By that point, the remaining list should mostly consist of specific combat conditions, missed collectibles, and any boss or quest requirements you have not already completed.
