Ranyek was a gambler, a drinker, and—unfortunately—not a very good swimmer. After falling into debt with some dice players, he ended up face down in a cesspit behind the inn in Bylany. By the time Henry tracks him down in The Devil’s Pack quest, there’s no heroic rescue—Ranyek is already dead, and there’s nothing you can do to change that.

How to Find Ranyek

  1. Ask Around – After speaking to Bohuta in Grund, he’ll mark Ranyek’s last known location on your map.

  2. Visit the Inn – Stop by the Bylany inn and question the locals. The dice players there have the details.

  3. Follow the Dice Players – They’ll take you behind the inn to a sewage pit, where Ranyek’s body is, uh... floating.

What Are Your Options?

Once you realize Ranyek is beyond saving, you still have a few choices:

  • Recover the Body (Recommended for Trophy)

    • Offer to pull Ranyek out of the cesspit.

    • Enter the sewage, find his body, and drag him out.

    • Loot his bow and hand it over to the dice players as repayment for his gambling debts.

    • This ensures you’ve “physically found” Ranyek, which counts toward the Dirty Seven trophy.

  • Refuse to Pay the Debt (Not Recommended)

    • If you refuse to retrieve the body or pay, the dice players will get violent.

    • Fighting them skips the body recovery, which could affect the trophy.

The Ultimate Answer: No, You Can’t Save Ranyek

Ranyek’s fate is set—he’s already met his end before you arrive. However, you can still recover his body and make sure he gets counted for the quest. Just bring a strong stomach and try not to think about what you're wading through.
