Side quests in Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 don’t hold your hand. No glowing markers, no mystical voices telling you where to go. Instead, you have to actually talk to people. Ask around. Pretend like you belong in the 1400s.
One such quest is Yackers 'n' Fash, which kicks off a larger storyline involving Foreman Vlach. He’s got problems, and, naturally, Henry is the only person in all of Bohemia capable of solving them.
How To Start The Yackers 'n' Fash Quest
To start the quest, you first need to complete Speak of the Devil. Once that’s done, Vlach becomes your new best friend—assuming you can actually find him.
Location: Southern Kuttenberg region.
Problem: He works in the mines and won’t talk while he’s busy.
Solution: Wait until evening when he wanders over to the Black Horse Tavern.
Action: Approach him, agree to help, and boom, you’re in business.
He doesn’t give a ton of details—just that something’s going down and Henry needs to fix it. Classic.
How To Get Into Saints’ Den
Saints’ Den is underground (because of course it is). There are multiple ways in, but unless you enjoy picking locks and getting into trouble, the easiest entrance is southeast of the Black Horse Tavern.
Find the tunnel entrance and head inside.
Stick to the right side as you move forward.
Henry will eventually say something like, “Finally”—a good sign that you’re going the right way.
Soon, you’ll find a ladder. Climb it.
Follow the path ahead until you reach a locked door.
Pick the lock and step inside Saints’ Den.
Inside, you’ll meet Joerg Preng and his band of troublemakers. They aren’t exactly the welcoming type, so you have a few ways to deal with them:
Fistfight them (if you enjoy unnecessary bruises).
Play dice (if you trust your luck).
Use dialogue skill checks (recommended—if you’ve been keeping your speech skills sharp).
If you have the skills, talking your way through is the easiest route. If not, better hope you’re good with your fists or dice.
How To Find Merchant Hensel
Once you’re done with Joerg, it’s time to track down Merchant Hensel. Spoiler: things aren’t looking good for him.
Exit the tunnel (either backtracking or using another way out).
Head south of Kuttenberg towards the quest marker.
Near a crossroad west of the objective, you’ll find a sack full of blood—which is never a good sign.
Keep moving south, following cart tracks.
Eventually, you’ll come across an abandoned cart.
Near the cart, you’ll spot a trail of blood.
At this point, things go from bad to worse. Follow the trail, and before long, you’ll run into wolves. They’re not here for a friendly chat, so deal with them however you see fit.
Once the wolves are taken care of, examine the corpse nearby. Yep—that’s Hensel. Looks like he didn’t make it.
How To Complete The Yackers 'n' Fash Quest
Now it’s time to finish the job. The next step takes you to a small village called Danemark.
From Hensel’s body, keep heading south until you see the village.
There’s a mill in the distance—that’s where you’re headed.
As you get closer, a group of enemies will attack on sight.
Now, you’ve got options:
Stealth approach: Sneak in, take out a few enemies quietly, and make your life easier.
Full-frontal attack: Charge in, sword swinging. Hope for the best.
Either way, once you’ve dealt with them, head to the southern building in the village.
Enter through the lower door.
Look to the right side of the room.
Open the chest and loot St. Anthony’s Standard.
With the standard in hand, all that’s left is to return to Vlach. Hand over the relic, and just like that, another problem solved.
Henry: 1, Bohemian chaos: 0.
