EverSiege Untold Ages Review: Addictive Core, Rough Launch

EverSiege Untold Ages is one of those games where you hop in thinking you will try one run, then suddenly you are deep into it testing builds and trying to break the game in your own way. It feels really good moment to moment, but you also run into some stuff pretty quickly that reminds you this thing is not fully polished yet.

Is EverSiege Untold Ages Worth Playing Right Now

Yeah, it is worth playing because the gameplay loop is genuinely fun, but it has some rough edges that are hard to ignore, especially in multiplayer.

If you are playing solo, you are probably going to enjoy it a lot more right now.

The Loop Hooks You Fast

The best way to describe it is you are always doing something that feels useful.

You are out there clearing camps, grabbing upgrades, building your base, sending troops, then suddenly you are back fighting a boss thinking you might actually win this time.

Then you die… and immediately queue another run anyway.

That loop hits hard. It has that classic “just one more run” feeling where you always think your next build is going to be the one that pops off

Builds Get Kinda Crazy In A Good Way

This is easily the most fun part.

You start simple with a Wargear and a couple Essences, but pretty quickly your build starts going in weird directions depending on what you find.

One run you feel super clean and controlled, next run you are stacking effects and your screen is just numbers and enemies getting melted.

It actually feels like your choices matter, not just small stat boosts.

It Takes A Bit To Click

Early on, I definitely had moments where I was just doing stuff and hoping it worked.

There are a lot of systems going on, and the game does not always explain them clearly. Once it clicks though, it clicks hard.

After a few runs, you start understanding what is strong, what is bait, and how to build properly.

Multiplayer… Yeah This Needs Work

This is where things get a bit rough.

The biggest issue is progression:

  • Only the host gets progress

  • If you are not the host, you are basically just along for the run

That feels weird for a game like this.

Then you also have:

  • Occasional lag or weird desync

  • Long or buggy load screens

  • Some crashes

It is not unplayable, but it is definitely not smooth either.

No Mid Run Save Hurts More Than You Think

This one got me.

If you crash or have to leave, that run is just gone. No save, nothing to fall back on.

When runs start getting longer, losing one like that feels bad.

Performance Feels Hit Or Miss

For me it was mostly fine, but you can tell it is not perfectly optimized.

Some runs feel smooth, others you might notice stutters or small issues, especially when a lot is happening.

Multiplayer seems to be where more of the problems show up.

My Take

EverSiege Untold Ages is actually really fun when everything is working. The core gameplay loop is strong, builds are satisfying, and every run feels like it has potential. Right now though, it feels like a game that needed a bit more time, mainly for multiplayer and stability. If the devs clean that up, this could easily be one of those games people sink a ton of hours into.

Definitely worth a buy still, and I’d give this a solid 7.5/10 at launch with 9+/10 potential.
