If others can’t hear you in R.E.P.O. or the microphone isn’t working, it’s likely an issue with how the game detects audio channels. Here are a few fixes to get voice chat working again.

1. Set Mic to Left Audio Channel (For XLR Mics & Audio Cards)

For some reason, R.E.P.O. doesn’t detect sound from the right audio channel. If you're using an XLR microphone with an audio interface, try this:

  • Plug your mic into the left input on your audio card.

  • If your mic is in the right channel, move it to the left side.

2. Restart Push-to-Talk

Some players found that toggling push-to-talk on and off can sometimes fix the issue.

  • Go to R.E.P.O.'s audio settings and disable push-to-talk.

  • Turn it back on and test your mic in-game.

3. Fix for Focusrite Audio Interfaces

If you're using a Focusrite Solo 4th Gen (or similar models), follow these steps:

  1. Open Focusrite Control 2 software.

  2. Click the three dots in the top right → Preferences.

  3. Go to Device Settings and enable "Combine Input 1 and Input 2."

  4. Mute the input you’re not using (probably Input 1).

This should allow your mic to work properly in-game.

4. Try a Different Input Port

If your mic isn’t working, but the game detects it, try plugging it into a different port on your sound card. Some players fixed the issue by switching from Input 2 to Input 1.

5. Make Sure Your Headset Is Plugged In All the Way

It’s a basic thing, but depending on your headset type your wires might not be plugged in quite all the way. Make sure every part of your headset is plugged in correctly.

Final Blurb

R.E.P.O. has some weird audio quirks, especially for players using XLR mics and external sound cards. If you're still having issues, try switching input channels, adjusting push-to-talk, or changing settings in your audio interface software.
