The tournament in KCD2 is prone to multiple bugs, from opponents failing to equip weapons to fights not starting at all. However, by following the right steps, you can complete the event without issues.
Step 1: Save Before Entering
Save outside the tournament area before signing up.
Do not save between matches—this can break the tournament.
Step 2: Start the Tournament Properly
Enter the tournament and receive your tournament armor.
Immediately press Wait (T on PC) and cancel after a second.
This forces your opponent into their starting position.
After each match, wait for a few hours to help the game load properly.
Let the game naturally pull you out of wait time—this ensures the event progresses correctly.
Step 3: Let Your Opponent Enter First
Never enter the arena before your opponent.
Watch to make sure they enter with the correct weapon.
Only after confirming this should you talk to the armorer and enter the ring.
Step 4: Fixing Opponent Weapon & Gear Issues
Before each fight, use Wait for an hour and cancel after a few seconds.
This forces your opponent into the arena, usually mid-celebration.
If an opponent leaves the arena before the second round, walk out of the quest area and use short wait-cancel until they return.
If an opponent spawns with no weapon, let them leave to change gear.
Wait for nearly an hour, then cancel—this forces them back in properly equipped.
Step 5: Fixing the Fight Not Starting
If the announcer doesn’t start the match, but you’re in position:
Walk out of the arena and back in.
Sheathe your sword, then re-enter your corner.
Step 6: Collect Rewards at the End
Do not collect rewards between rounds.
Only claim your prize after winning the entire tournament.
Final Tips
• Always wait between battles to let the game load.
• Be patient with NPCs—let them move at their own pace.
• Never enter the arena first—this often causes bugs.
