If you’ve been running around R.E.P.O. trying to figure out how to unlock those mysterious locked doors, stop wasting your precious time (the gnomes are coming!).

Locked doors are just… locked. There are no keys, no special unlockable tools, and no secret passageways. They are simply part of the level design and meant to block off certain areas.

Can You Open Locked Doors?

No. You cannot open locked doors in R.E.P.O. No keys, no purchases, no tricks—if a door is locked, it’s staying that way.

So, What’s the Point?

Locked doors control the flow of each level and force players to take different routes. They’re supposed to add challenge by limiting your options, making it harder to escape monsters or find loot.

Final Blurb

If you see a locked door, just move on—there’s nothing you can do (It’ll also help if you check your map a bit and pay attention to the layout). Don’t waste time searching for keys that don’t exist, or get cornered and panic as monsters chase you, trying to find an escape route when there is none. Instead, focus on looting, surviving, and avoiding becoming a monster’s next snack.
