Mistfall Hunter: How to Get Soul Coins
Soul Coins are Mistfall Hunter’s earnable shop currency, but the game does not clearly explain where they come from or why the Mall sometimes sends players to the Fate Coin purchase screen instead. Unlike Gyldenblod, Soul Coins are not obtained by extracting with loot or selling equipment.
Current players can receive Soul Coins from launch-reward mail and the Season 1 Battle Pass. If you do not have enough Soul Coins for a purchase, Fate Coins can also cover the missing amount at checkout. That does not mean the two currencies are identical, but it does mean you do not need to convert Fate Coins manually before completing the purchase.

Claim 1,000 Free Soul Coins From Your Mail
Mistfall Hunter has distributed two separate launch-reward messages containing 500 Soul Coins each. Players who claim both messages can therefore begin with a total of 1,000 free Soul Coins.
The first reward was sent after the game passed 100,000 players shortly after launch. It contains the Thumbs Up gesture and 500 Soul Coins.
A second reward wave followed on August 1 after Mistfall Hunter passed 500,000 Gyldhunters and reached the top of Twitch. That message contains another 500 Soul Coins, an Ashen Cipher, an Abyssal Cipher, and a three-day Pip’s Rare Pouch Voucher.
Open the in-game mailbox and claim both messages separately. Receiving one set of 500 coins does not mean the second has already been collected.
Both launch-reward messages must be claimed before September 1, 2026, at 00:00 UTC. Leaving them in the mailbox beyond that deadline means losing the free currency and any other included items.

Earn More Soul Coins Through the Battle Pass
The Season 1 Battle Pass, named Slumbering Contract, is the main current source of additional Soul Coins after the launch mail.
According to the player reward count, completing the Season 1 Battle Pass awards 700 Soul Coins in total. These coins are spread across its progression rather than delivered as one immediate payment.
You do not need to spend your launch coins to unlock the first pass. Slumbering Contract becomes available for free after seven cumulative login days through Pip’s Welcome Gift.
Cumulative means the seven days do not need to form one uninterrupted streak. Missing a day should delay the unlock rather than reset all previous login progress.
Once the pass is available, complete its objectives and claim each reward tier containing Soul Coins. Merely reaching a tier may not place the currency in your balance until the reward is manually collected.
Can You Earn the Next Battle Pass for Free?
Bellring Games has said that players who maintain enough activity during a season will be able to renew and unlock the following season’s Battle Pass without paying.
The current Season 1 pass reportedly contains 700 Soul Coins. When combined with the 1,000 coins distributed across both launch-reward waves, a player who claims everything and completes the pass can potentially accumulate 1,700 Soul Coins before spending any of them.
That total does not guarantee that every future Battle Pass will cost the same amount or contain the same rewards. The developers have confirmed the ability to renew through active play, but future prices and reward tracks can still change between seasons.
Players who want to remain on the free renewal path should avoid spending all of their Soul Coins on individual cosmetics until the next pass price is known.
Can Fate Coins Replace Missing Soul Coins?
Yes. If a store purchase accepts Soul Coins and your balance is too low, Fate Coins can cover the remaining cost.
For example, a player with 1,000 Soul Coins who is 200 coins short can complete the purchase using 1,000 Soul Coins and 200 Fate Coins. The store should account for the available Soul Coins first and charge the shortfall in Fate Coins.
You do not need to find a separate currency-conversion menu. Continue through the purchase screen and inspect the final cost shown by the game.
This is better described as a mixed payment than a permanent conversion. You are not turning the entire Fate Coin balance into Soul Coins that remain in your wallet. The Fate Coins are simply used to satisfy the part of that purchase your Soul Coins cannot cover.
Soul Coins and Fate Coins Are Not the Same Currency
Soul Coins are the silver shop currency distributed through rewards and progression. Fate Coins are the premium currency associated with real-money purchases and paid edition bonuses.
The currencies can contribute toward some of the same store transactions, which is why they can appear interchangeable at checkout. Their acquisition methods are still different.
Soul Coins can currently be earned or received through:
Launch-reward mail.
Battle Pass reward tiers.
Developer giveaways or future events when specifically announced.
Fate Coins are the currency presented through the paid Mall purchase interface. They provide the fallback when a player does not have enough earned Soul Coins.
Do not assume that every item accepting Fate Coins can also be purchased entirely with Soul Coins. Store restrictions may differ between cosmetics, passes, bundles, and special currencies.
Can You Buy Soul Coins Directly?
The Mall directs players toward Fate Coins rather than offering a straightforward Soul Coin package. That is why selecting an item while short on Soul Coins can make it appear that the game has sent you to the wrong currency screen.
You are effectively purchasing Fate Coins to cover the difference. There is no separate direct Soul Coin purchase method confirmed by the information currently available.
Before buying anything, return to the item and check whether the checkout combines your existing Soul Coins with the required number of Fate Coins. Buying a package based only on the full displayed item price could leave you purchasing more premium currency than the actual shortfall requires.
Do Raids or Quests Give Soul Coins?
No repeatable Soul Coin farming method through normal raids has been confirmed by the supplied information. Enemies, chests, extracted equipment, and the Auction House belong to Mistfall Hunter’s gameplay economy rather than its shop-currency system.
Some community posts have suggested other progression sources, but the clearly supported current methods are the two launch-reward messages and Battle Pass tiers.
Do not confuse Soul Coins with Gyldenblod. Gyldenblod is earned and spent throughout normal equipment progression, while Soul Coins are primarily connected to the Mall and Battle Pass.
Should You Spend Soul Coins on the Battle Pass?
The first Season 1 Battle Pass should not require Soul Coins if you wait for the free unlock through seven cumulative login days. Spending currency to access it early would reduce the amount available for a future pass or cosmetic without increasing the final reward track.
Wait for Pip’s Welcome Gift unless there is a time-sensitive reason to unlock Slumbering Contract immediately.
After unlocking it, decide whether your priority is continuing the Battle Pass cycle or purchasing individual cosmetics. Saving enough for the next season is the safer choice because cosmetics do not generate additional Soul Coins, while a completed pass may help fund the following one.
A practical free-player approach is:
Claim both 500 Soul Coin mail rewards.
Log in on seven separate days to unlock Season 1 for free.
Complete the Battle Pass and claim its Soul Coin tiers.
Reserve enough currency for the next season before buying cosmetics.
Use Fate Coins only when you intentionally want to cover a remaining shortfall.
Why Did You Only Receive 500 Soul Coins?
The two sets of free Soul Coins arrive through different mail messages. If your balance is only 500, check the mailbox for either the original July 30 launch reward or the August 1 Second Wave reward.
Make sure each message has been opened and claimed. Reading the mail without collecting its attachments may leave the currency unadded.
If the Battle Pass coins appear to be missing, inspect the completed tiers and claim their rewards individually. The reported 700-coin total is earned across the pass and is not an immediate bonus for unlocking it.
Finally, confirm that you have not already spent part of the balance. A mixed Soul Coin and Fate Coin purchase may reduce both currencies, which can make the resulting wallet totals less obvious than a purchase using only one currency.

If your balance remains slightly below the price of a pass or cosmetic, Fate Coins can pay the difference directly during checkout. You do not need to convert them first, and the game is not requiring the full purchase to be made with only one currency.
