Varlamore, the latest continent in Old School RuneScape, has new quests, resources, and challenges for mid- to high-level players. This guide covers everything you need to access and explore Varlamore, from travel requirements to profitable activities and key locations.

1. Unlocking Access to Varlamore

To access Varlamore, you must complete certain prerequisites:

  • Quest Requirements: Complete the following quests, which tie into the Varlamore storyline:

    • "The Quest for Varlamore": This quest introduces players to the lore of Varlamore and provides a ticket for passage on the ship to the continent.

    • "Secrets of the Sea": An additional quest that gives players access to items and allies that will be helpful in Varlamore.

  • Skill Requirements: Varlamore content is generally aimed at mid- to high-level players, so it’s recommended to have the following minimum skill levels:

    • 60 Agility: To navigate certain terrains and unlock shortcuts.

    • 50 Thieving: For quest steps requiring theft or stealth.

    • 55 Combat: While not mandatory, a higher combat level will make exploration easier and safer.

2. How to Travel to Varlamore

After completing the required quests, you can begin your journey to Varlamore. Here’s how:

  • Location: Head to Port Sarim. Near the docks, you’ll find a new NPC, Captain Nialis, who offers trips to Varlamore.

  • Ticket Purchase: Show your “Quest for Varlamore” completion certificate to Captain Nialis, then purchase a Varlamore Passage Ticket for 10,000 coins. This ticket grants you passage on the ship to Varlamore.

  • Set Sail: Once you have your ticket, speak to Captain Nialis again, and he’ll direct you to his ship, The Voyager. From here, you’ll sail directly to Varlamore, arriving at the primary port on the continent.

3. Varlamore’s Points of Interest

Upon arriving in Varlamore, you’ll land in Adventurer’s Cove, a bustling port town filled with NPCs, shops, and quest-givers. Here are some key areas to explore:

  • The Market District: Offers general stores and special Varlamore-exclusive items, including exotic resources not found on the mainland.

  • Adventurer’s Guild: The Guild provides players with quests, information, and training options specific to the content in Varlamore. Completing Guild quests can earn you discounts at shops and unlock shortcuts.

  • Varlamore Wilds: For players interested in gathering, hunting, or combat, the Wilds are filled with high-level creatures and resource-rich areas. Keep in mind that creatures here can be aggressive, so be prepared.

4. Tips for Navigating Varlamore

  • Bring a Teleport Method: Use the Explorer’s Ring or Chronicle Book for quick teleports back to mainland Gielinor if you need to restock or get out of dangerous areas quickly.

  • Unlock Shortcuts: Certain shortcuts throughout Varlamore are locked initially but can be unlocked through quests or by training Agility and Thieving.

  • Stock Up on Supplies: Varlamore’s wilderness areas are challenging, so bring plenty of food, potions, and anti-poison to ensure survival in combat zones.

5. Profitable Activities in Varlamore

  • Resource Gathering: Varlamore’s Wilds offer valuable resources like Varlamore Ore and Exotic Herbs that sell well on the Grand Exchange.

  • Unique Monsters: Hunt high-level creatures for exclusive drops, such as Varlamore Armor Fragments and rare weapons, which can fetch high prices.

  • Miniquests and Dailies: Completing daily tasks or miniquests in Varlamore can earn gold, reputation, and experience points, making it a productive way to progress your character.

6. Returning to Gielinor

To return to Gielinor, simply head back to Adventurer’s Cove and find Captain Nialis. He offers trips back to Port Sarim for a nominal fee. If you’ve unlocked any special teleportation items during your quests, these can also provide a shortcut back to Gielinor.
