Palworld 1.0 Breeding Combos Guide
Breeding is still one of the strongest systems in Palworld 1.0 because it lets you target specific Pals instead of relying only on wild spawns, boss fights, or late-game exploration. If you want stronger workers, cleaner passives, rare variants, or some of the new 1.0 Pals without waiting for the perfect spawn, breeding is usually the more controlled route.
The 1.0 update added a large wave of new Pals and variants, so the breeding chart is much more crowded than it used to be. For a full checklist of the new additions, our Palworld 1.0 all new Pals guide lists every new Pal added in the update. This guide focuses on the breeding side: how the system works, which combinations produce the new Pals, and which targets are actually worth caring about first.

How Breeding Works in Palworld 1.0
To breed Pals in Palworld, you need to reach level 19, unlock the Breeding Farm with Technology Points, build it at your base, and assign one male Pal and one female Pal to the farm. After enough time passes, the pair will produce an egg, which then needs to be placed inside an Egg Incubator before it can hatch.
The basic process has not changed much in 1.0, but the value of breeding has gone up because the Paldeck is larger and more specialized. A wild Pal gives you whatever stats and passives the game hands you. A bred Pal gives you a route toward better passives, cleaner work traits, and specific variants that may be annoying to find naturally.
| Breeding Requirement | Details |
|---|---|
| Breeding Farm unlock | Level 19 |
| Breeding Farm cost | 100 Wood, 20 Stone, 50 Fiber |
| Breeding Farm unlock cost | 2 Technology Points |
| Parent requirement | One male Pal and one female Pal |
| Egg requirement | Place the egg in an Egg Incubator |
| Egg Incubator unlock | Level 7 with Ancient Technology |
I would not treat breeding as something you only touch after finishing the game. It becomes useful as soon as you can start producing targeted workers and early combat upgrades. The late-game chart looks intimidating, but the actual loop is simple: pick the result you want, get the two parents, keep the farm supplied, hatch the egg, and repeat until the passives stop offending you personally.
New Palworld 1.0 Breeding Combos
The table below focuses on Palworld 1.0 breeding combos for the new Pals and new variants. It is sorted alphabetically by result Pal, and the listed parent combinations inside each row are also ordered alphabetically where possible, so it is easier to scan than a raw breeding dump.
Some new Pals have self-breeding routes, while others require specific late-game parents or older Pals. In general, the easiest combos are the ones that use common or mid-game parents, while Dragon, Dark, and late-game fusion-style Pals usually ask for rarer parents.

Best Pals to Breed First
The best Palworld 1.0 breeding targets are not automatically the rarest names on the chart. A Pal is worth breeding early if it solves a real problem: better base labor, stronger combat coverage, easier access to a rare type, or a cleaner route into another important combo.
Anubis is still one of the most practical breeding targets because of how much it does for a base. Mining, handiwork, and transporting are the kind of work skills that make the rest of your production chain feel less miserable, and Anubis also holds up well enough in combat to avoid being just a factory employee with ears.
For the new 1.0 Pals, I would pay close attention to Aegidron, Eidrolon, Eidrolon Ignis, Ophydia, Renjishi, Shaolong, and Solenne because their typing and parent requirements point toward late-game relevance. Dragon combinations are especially worth watching, since they tend to have more long-term combat value than another basic single-type option.
On the base and utility side, do not ignore Pals like Gloopie Primo, Sibelyx Primo, Starryon Primo, Tetroise Primo, and the new elemental variants. Primo forms and variants may not always look like the flashiest targets, but Palworld has a habit of making one awkward-looking Pal quietly important because of work suitability, breeding value, or one very specific use case that suddenly becomes annoying to replace.
| Priority Target | Why Breed It |
|---|---|
| Aegidron | High-interest Ground / Dragon option with several late-game parent routes |
| Anubis | Still one of the best practical base workers and a strong combat Pal |
| Eidrolon | Dark / Dragon typing makes it one of the more interesting 1.0 targets |
| Eidrolon Ignis | Fire / Dragon variant with a straightforward Eidrolon + Suzaku route |
| Ophydia | Water / Grass coverage with multiple high-end parent combinations |
| Shaolong | Water / Dragon Pal with simple self-breeding once obtained |
| Solenne | Dark / Neutral option built from late-game parent combinations |
How Variant Breeding Works
Palworld 1.0 leans heavily into variants. Ignis, Cryst, Noct, Lux, Terra, Botan, and Primo forms all show up across the updated breeding chart, and many of them can be produced either through a specific parent pairing or by breeding the same variant with itself once you already have it.
That second part matters. If a variant has a self-breeding route, your first copy is the hard part. After that, you can start breeding for better passives, better work traits, or cleaner backups without needing to repeat the original parent chain every time.
This is where the breeding system becomes more than a checklist. The first hatch gets the Pal into your collection. The later hatches are where you actually build the version you want to use. For combat Pals, that means chasing better offensive or survival passives. For base Pals, that means caring more about work speed, sanity, food management, and whatever keeps your base from turning into a union complaint.
Breeding Tips
The best breeding strategy in Palworld 1.0 is to start with practical targets, then move into rare variants once your base can support the process. Breeding takes space, food, time, cake supply, and incubation management, so it works best when your base economy is already stable.
Do not try to breed everything at once. Pick one result, gather the parents, hatch several eggs, and keep the best outcome. If the Pal can self-breed, use that to improve passives later. If it requires rare parents, keep those parents organized because they may lead into several other important combinations.
It is also worth keeping older high-value Pals around even if you are focused on 1.0 content. Names like Anubis, Jetragon, Frostallion, Orserk, Blazamut, Shadowbeak, Faleris, and Jormuntide still appear in important routes, which means deleting or ignoring your old breeding stock can make the new chart harder than it needs to be.
The biggest mistake is treating the breeding chart like a grocery list instead of a progression tool. You do not need every combo immediately. You need the combinations that give you better workers, stronger combat options, or access to new variant chains. Breed for value first, then fill the Paldeck once your setup can handle the volume.
