Split Fiction Difficulty Settings Explained

Split Fiction is one of the most anticipated co-op games of the year, delivering an exciting and challenging experience for players. Unlike Hazelight Studios' previous titles, such as It Takes Two, this game features more complex puzzles and platforming, making it tougher to complete.

But if you find certain sections difficult, you might wonder: Can you adjust the difficulty?

Is There a Difficulty Setting?

Unfortunately, Split Fiction does not include a traditional difficulty setting. You can’t lower the challenge or tweak enemy strength like in some other games. The game is designed to be played at a set difficulty, requiring the same amount of teamwork and persistence to progress.

Are There Any Options to Make It Easier?

While you can’t directly change the difficulty, Hazelight Studios has included some features to make the game more forgiving, such as:

  • Assist options to help with tricky platforming or timing-based puzzles.

  • Checkpoints that ensure you don’t lose too much progress.

  • Co-op mechanics that allow one player to help the other during tough sections.

Final Blurb

If you're struggling, the best approach is to communicate with your co-op partner and take advantage of the game’s built-in assist features. While there’s no way to lower the difficulty outright, Split Fiction is still designed to be accessible to everyone if you work together.
