How to Get to Hall of Thanes in WoW Forever
To reach the Hall of Thanes in WoW Forever, travel to Ironforge and enter The High Seat, where King Magni Bronzebeard is located. Turn left immediately after entering the throne room (in center of Ironforge) to find a spiderweb-covered passage leading into Old Ironforge. Follow the descending route to reach the dungeon portal.

Here's the route step by step:
- Travel to Ironforge in Dun Morogh.
- Head toward The High Seat from The Great Forge.
- Enter the throne room and immediately look left.
- Enter the spiderweb-covered corridor leading into Old Ironforge, near coordinates 43.5, 52.0.
- Follow the passage until you reach the stairs and stone pathways.
- Take the descending path and carefully follow it toward the bridge.
- Cross to the dungeon portal and enter the Hall of Thanes.
Finding the Entrance Inside Old Ironforge
The main point of confusion is the split in the route after entering Old Ironforge. You can continue up the stairs or follow a crumbling path downward.
For the dungeon entrance, follow the descending path. Continuing upstairs instead leads toward a quest NPC.
Be careful near the lava along the lower route. Falling into it is fatal, so avoid cutting across the edges of the stone pathways.
Once you reach the bridge, you'll find the dungeon entrance nearby. Thom Filch, who offers the Important Heirlooms dungeon quest, can also be found in this area.
Can Horde Players Reach the Hall of Thanes?
The Hall of Thanes is designed as an Alliance dungeon, but Horde players can attempt to travel to its entrance.
One documented route begins at Tarren Mill in Hillsbrad Foothills, then passes through Arathi Highlands, Wetlands, Loch Modan, and Dun Morogh before reaching Ironforge.
The difficult part is entering Ironforge itself. The city is hostile to Horde characters, and its guards make reaching The High Seat dangerous.
Horde players attempting the journey may want to remove their equipment beforehand to avoid durability loss from repeated deaths.
For Alliance players, the quickest approach is simply to enter The High Seat, turn left into Old Ironforge, and follow the lower pathway until reaching the Hall of Thanes portal.
