ZERO Sievert How to Identify Friendlies and Enemies

In ZERO Sievert, knowing who is friendly and who wants to attack you can be a little confusing. Here’s how to tell enemies and friendlies apart:

1. Know the Different Groups

  • Friendlies:

    • These include traders, civilians, or allies from friendly factions.

    • They won’t attack you unless you attack them first.

    • You can talk to them, trade, or get quests.

  • Enemies:

    • These include bandits, raiders, monsters, or hostile factions.

    • They will attack you as soon as they see you.

2. Look at How They Look

The way an NPC looks can tell you a lot:

  • Friendlies:

    • Calm or neutral body language.

    • Neutral or clean clothing, often tied to a faction.

    • They may hold weapons but won’t aim them at you.

  • Enemies:

    • Aggressive stance or quick movements.

    • Scrappy or intimidating gear, often looking like raiders or outlaws.

    • They will often have their weapons ready and pointed.

3. Watch What They Do

NPC behavior can tell you if they are friendly or hostile:

  • Friendlies:

    • They stand still or move calmly.

    • They might talk to you or offer quests.

    • They won’t move toward you in a threatening way.

  • Enemies:

    • They charge at you or take cover.

    • They may attack other NPCs or creatures near them.

    • You’ll often hear them shout or make noises before they attack.

4. Check Your Crosshair

Your crosshair changes color when you aim at an NPC:

  • Green or Neutral Color: They are friendly or won’t attack you.

  • Red Crosshair: They are hostile and will attack you.

5. Listen Carefully

Sounds can also help you figure out who is friendly:

  • Friendlies: Calm or normal talking sounds. No fighting noises.

  • Enemies: Angry shouts, growls (for monsters), or gunfire.

6. Your Reputation Matters

How you treat factions in the game affects how they see you:

  • Helping a faction makes them friendlier.

  • Attacking or stealing from them might turn them hostile.

7. Be Careful

  • Don’t Shoot First: If you’re not sure if someone is friendly wait and watch what they do. Shooting a friendly NPC can turn them into an enemy.

  • Scout First: Look around and observe from a distance before approaching or attacking.

Useful Tips

  • Use Binoculars or a Scope: These let you identify NPCs from far away.

  • Talk First: If an NPC lets you talk to them, they are usually friendly.

  • Save Often: If you accidentally attack a friendly NPC, reload your last save to fix the mistake.
