AION 2 How to Emote

AION 2 How to Emote

AION 2 has built-in emotes for dancing, waving, posing, showing your wings, reacting to other players, and more. The fastest way to use them is through chat commands, so you do not need to dig through the interface every time you want your character to perform an action.

How to Emote in AION 2

To emote in AION 2, open chat, type the slash command for the emote you want to use, and press Enter. For example, typing /dance makes your character dance, while /wave performs the waving emote.

Example:
Open chat → type /dance → press Enter

You do not need to unlock every basic interaction first. AION 2 starts characters with a large selection of standard emotes already available, so common commands such as dancing, waving, laughing, kneeling, and posing can be used immediately.

Useful AION 2 Emote Commands

You only need to remember the command for the action you want. These are some of the most useful default emotes:

/dance — Dance
/wave — Wave
/greet — Greet
/laugh — Laugh
/applaud — Applaud
/kneel — Kneel
/pray — Pray
/point — Point
/think — Think
/pose — Pose
/wings — Show your wings
/weapon — Show your weapon
/peace — Peace-sign pose

If you want to see every animation currently available, our AION 2 All Emotes guide lists all 47 default, unlockable, and collaboration emotes.

Several emotes also accept alternate commands. For example, /clap can trigger Applaud, /hi or /hello can trigger Wave, and /lol can trigger Laugh. You only need one valid version of the command.

One command style that does not work like it does in some other MMOs is /e or /em. AION 2 does not currently provide a custom-emote command that lets you write your own roleplay action using those shortcuts. Use the game's predefined emotes instead.

How to Use the Emote Window in AION 2

If you do not want to memorize slash commands, AION 2 also has an emote window where the available actions are separated into Emote, Action, and Communication categories.

Actions such as Dance, Kneel, Pray, Show Wings, and Pose are grouped with physical actions, while reactions such as Laugh, Fear, Sad, and Think appear with the emotional emotes. Communication options include actions such as Greet, Yes, No, Wave, and Taunt.

The slash command is still the quickest method once you know the emote name, particularly for actions you use frequently.

Why Can't I Use an Emote in AION 2?

If a specific emote command does nothing, that emote may not be part of the default set. AION 2 has additional emotes that must be learned by obtaining and using the corresponding Emote item.

These extra emotes can come from different sources depending on the emote, including events and other limited or purchasable rewards. Unlocking the item adds that action to the emotes your character can use.

This is why a command you find online may be valid but still not work on your character. Commands such as /dance and /wave are standard actions, while special emotes may require that you own them first.
