The Citrine Pot in Final Fantasy Resonance looks like an enemy you should be able to overpower, but normal attacks will never finish the fight. Its battle is built around giving the Pot the item it asks for instead. The first Citrine Pot appears in Siren's Tower during Chapter 1, making it one of the earliest enemies to introduce this type of puzzle encounter.

How to Beat the Citrine Pot in Final Fantasy Resonance
To beat the Citrine Pot, wait for it to request an item, then use an Ether from your inventory and target the Citrine Pot itself. Giving it the requested Ether ends the battle immediately and counts as a victory.
- Enter the Citrine Pot battle.
- Wait for the Pot to ask for an item.
- Open your item menu and select Ether.
- Target the Citrine Pot with the Ether.
- The fight ends immediately once it receives the item.
If you do not have an Ether available, leave the battle and return after obtaining one. There is no alternative damage strategy that lets you bypass the item requirement.
Why Can't You Damage the Citrine Pot?
The Citrine Pot is designed to ignore conventional combat. Attacks only deal 1 damage, the Pot restores its health every turn, and status effects will not disable the gimmick.
That means changing weapons, exploiting elemental weaknesses, building stagger, or trying to burst it down before it heals will not solve the encounter. The battle ends through the item interaction rather than reducing its HP normally.
This same idea carries into other Pot encounters later in Final Fantasy Resonance. The requested item can change, including stronger items such as Mist Turbo Ether, so it is worth keeping a few restorative items in reserve rather than selling or consuming everything between bosses.
Where to Find Citrine Pots
The first Citrine Pot can be found inside Siren's Tower during Chapter 1. You need to progress the story until Grandport Harbor before you can properly enter the tower.
Once inside Siren's Tower, look along the left side of the area above the stairs. The encounter appears as a shining Pot on the ground. Interact with it to begin the battle.
A second Citrine Pot appears later at Mobliz Shipyard in Chapter 2. You can reach that area after defeating Mama Bomb at the Dwarven Forge and continuing the main quest.
At Mobliz Shipyard, use the elevator on the left side of the second room, walk forward, then head right. The Citrine Pot is inside the fenced section near the chest in the upper-right portion of the area.
Citrine Pot Rewards
Citrine Pots are worth stopping for because they provide a large amount of Mastery Rank Points, or MRP. Since MRP is used to increase Vision Mastery, these encounters can give whichever Visions you currently have equipped a useful progression boost without requiring a difficult fight.
An Elixir can also be among the rewards obtained from defeating a Citrine Pot.
If you are developing several Visions for their abilities, remember that Mastery Rank is separate from Awakening. Mastery increases through combat and MRP, while Awakening uses Magicite. Our Final Fantasy Resonance how to awaken Visions guide explains the other progression system.
Switch to Expert Before Fighting a Citrine Pot
If you want to squeeze more value out of a Citrine Pot, consider changing the difficulty to Expert before starting the battle.
Expert difficulty increases the MRP reward by 1.5x, but it does not meaningfully make this particular encounter harder because you are not defeating the Pot through normal combat. You still give it the requested Ether and end the fight the same way.
That makes Citrine Pots unusually favorable opportunities to collect the higher Expert reward without taking on the combat risk that would normally come with the difficulty increase.
Can You Rematch the Citrine Pot?
No. Once you successfully give a Citrine Pot its requested item and finish the battle, that specific Pot cannot be fought again.
The object loses its shine afterward and can no longer be interacted with, so make sure the Visions you actually want to develop are equipped before starting the encounter. Because the MRP reward is one-time, using the fight on Visions you are actively trying to raise is more valuable than entering with a temporary setup.
If you are deciding which Visions deserve that Mastery progress, our Final Fantasy Resonance all Visions locations guide covers the full roster and when each Vision becomes available.
