Moon Sweepers How to Unlock Vehicles

To unlock vehicles in Moon Sweepers, you need to purchase the Building Tool for $50 and build a Garage for $200. The Garage gives you access to vehicle purchasing and management, with the cheapest option being the $300 Push Sweeper. If you want something you can actually drive, the Ride-on Sweeper costs $1,000.

How to Unlock and Buy Vehicles in Moon Sweepers

Vehicles are purchased through the Garage, so you'll need to establish one before moving beyond handheld cleaning equipment. Fortunately, the initial setup is relatively inexpensive compared with the larger vehicles.

  1. Start collecting lunar dust with your cleaning tools and deposit it at the station to earn money.
  2. Save $50 to purchase the Building Tool, which provides access to structures.
  3. Use the Building Tool to construct a Garage for $200.
  4. Access the Garage's vehicle purchasing options and select the vehicle you want.
  5. Purchase your chosen vehicle and use the Garage to deploy it.

You'll need at least $550 in total for the Building Tool, Garage, and cheapest vehicle. That gets you a Push Sweeper, which is operated on foot rather than driven from a seat.

For your first seated cleaning vehicle, the total starting cost is $1,250, including the Building Tool, Garage, and Ride-on Sweeper.

If you've already built a Garage, you won't need to purchase another one simply to access your owned vehicles. Our Moon Sweepers Garage Guide covers its other functions, including vehicle storage and unloading collected dust.

How Much Does Each Vehicle Cost in Moon Sweepers?

Moon Sweepers has five vehicles covering everything from basic cleaning to crew transportation and large-scale dust collection.

Vehicle Price Main Use
Push Sweeper $300 Entry-level walk-behind cleaning
Ride-on Sweeper $1,000 First seated cleaning vehicle
Crew Transport $2,000 Transporting up to eight players
Lunar Sweeper $2,500 Wider cleaning with a 1,200 kg hopper
Mega Vacuum Rover $6,000 Large-scale cleaning with a 3,000 kg hopper

Which Vehicle Should You Buy First?

I'd save for the Ride-on Sweeper if your main goal is to start driving while cleaning. Its 500 kg hopper and 1.98-meter cleaning width make it a substantial change from manual sweeping.

The Push Sweeper is cheaper and lets you move into mechanical cleaning sooner, but it isn't the same experience as driving a vehicle.

The Crew Transport is another distinction worth remembering. Although it costs more than the Ride-on Sweeper, it doesn't have a dust-cleaning function. Buying it won't help you sweep larger areas.

If you already have $2,500 available, the Lunar Sweeper offers a wider 2.8-meter cleaning strip and considerably more storage. There's no need to purchase every cheaper vehicle just to decide which one suits your cleaning operation, although any additional purchase restrictions would need to be checked in-game.

Do Vehicles Have Special Unlock Requirements in Moon Sweepers?

The confirmed purchasing process centers on the Garage and having enough money for the vehicle you want. There isn't reliable information here establishing a separate level, quest, or cleaning-percentage requirement for each vehicle.

That doesn't definitively rule out additional restrictions. If a vehicle appears unavailable in your Garage despite having enough money, its exact purchase condition would need to be confirmed rather than assuming there's a hidden technology tree.

Do You Need Another Garage for Better Vehicles?

Owning multiple Garages isn't a confirmed requirement for accessing larger vehicles. Since update 1.0.3, players can recall, store, and upgrade their owned vehicles through any Garage.

That makes additional Garages more useful for convenience and managing your cleaning operation than for unlocking a separate vehicle category.

Can Friends Unlock Vehicles for You?

Vehicle ownership is individual in Moon Sweepers multiplayer. Even when you're working together and sharing the same cleaning operation, each player purchases their own vehicles.

I'd keep that in mind before planning a group purchase. Having a teammate buy a Lunar Sweeper doesn't automatically add one to your personal collection.

Once you've purchased your first vehicle, the next practical step is making sure you have somewhere to unload its dust. A Garage can receive collected material, but its output still needs a working delivery route if you want that dust to move through your logistics system.

Not sure which vehicle is worth your money? Our Moon Sweepers Vehicles Guide compares all five options to help you choose the best one for your cleaning operation.
