Who Are the New Survivors in Risk of Rain 2?

The two new Risk of Rain 2 survivors added with Hallowed Concepts are Enforcer and Acolyte. Enforcer returns after previously appearing in the original Risk of Rain and Risk of Rain Returns, while Acolyte is a new playable survivor introduced specifically with Hallowed Concepts.

That brings two very different additions to the roster. Enforcer gives longtime players a returning survivor to revisit in Risk of Rain 2, while Acolyte introduces a more unusual health and transformation system built around recoverable health, Convictions, and the Anima Harvester.

Enforcer Returns in Risk of Rain 2

Enforcer is the returning survivor in Hallowed Concepts, making the jump into Risk of Rain 2 after appearing in both the original Risk of Rain and Risk of Rain Returns.

His inclusion is different from Acolyte's because Hallowed Concepts is not introducing Enforcer as a completely new character. Instead, it brings an established Risk of Rain survivor into the current game alongside the newer systems and content added by the expansion.

Enforcer also has his own Hallowed Concepts survivor challenges and additional skins, giving returning players more to unlock beyond simply adding him to the roster.

Acolyte Is the New Hallowed Concepts Survivor

Acolyte is the completely new survivor introduced in Hallowed Concepts. She is a close-range, glaive-wielding Lynx who follows the teachings of N'kuhana and can attack enemies both directly and through their souls.

Her kit is built around a much different health loop than most of the roster. With N'kuhana's Grace, normal healing and part of the damage she takes are converted into recoverable health rather than immediately restoring her health bar. Damaging enemies then lets Acolyte reclaim that stored health while also benefiting from additional attack speed.

Sacrifice adds another layer to the kit by generating Convictions. Once Acolyte reaches seven Convictions, she can invoke her Litany and use abilities such as Dark Summons to transform into the Anima Harvester.

How to Unlock Acolyte

Acolyte is unlocked by completing the A Broken Ritual challenge in Soulbound Threshold. You need to defeat both phases of the Anima Harvester and then interact with the Exhausted Acolyte that appears afterward.

Finishing the interaction requires a permanent item carrying either the Healing or Food-related tag. Giving her an eligible item completes A Broken Ritual and permanently adds Acolyte to the playable survivor roster.

Do the New Survivors Have New Skins?

Yes. Hallowed Concepts adds two additional skins for each of its new survivors. Enforcer can unlock Palisade and Impasse, while Acolyte can unlock Twilight and Vessel.

Those are part of a larger batch of 20 survivor skins added with the expansion, which also gives new appearances to many of the existing Risk of Rain 2 characters.

Are Enforcer and Acolyte Part of Hallowed Concepts?

Both survivors are part of Hallowed Concepts, the fourth Risk of Rain 2 expansion released on October 8, 2026. The expansion is themed around N'kuhana and the Lynx tribe and adds much more than the two survivors, including three new regular environments, five Hidden Realms, new bosses, Hexes, Hallowed items, and other systems that can appear during normal runs.

For the survivor roster specifically, though, Enforcer and Acolyte are the two headline additions. One brings a familiar Risk of Rain character into the sequel, while the other adds a completely new playstyle built around aggressive health recovery and Litany transformations.
