WoW Forever How to Reset Legacy Points

Legacy Points in WoW Forever are account-wide progression points spent across the Professions, Adventure, and Resourcefulness trees, but your choices are not permanent. If you want to move points out of perks you no longer need or rebuild your Legacy setup around a different goal, the reset is handled through your class trainer rather than from inside the Legacy menu itself.

How to Reset Legacy Points in WoW Forever

To reset your Legacy Points in WoW Forever, visit a trainer for your own class and choose the option to unlearn your Legacy Tree points. The current beta cost for the first reset is 10 gold.

You do not reset the points directly from the Legacy interface. The respec option is handled by the class trainer in the same general place you would go for class-related training or talent services.

How Much Does It Cost to Reset Legacy Points?

The first Legacy Point reset currently costs 10 gold in the WoW Forever beta.

That is expensive enough that you probably should not treat the Legacy trees like talents you swap casually between every activity. Legacy Points are earned through larger account-wide milestones such as leveling classes and professions, completing dungeons and raids, exploring Azeroth, and progressing through PvP and reputation objectives, so it makes more sense to build around bonuses you expect to use for a while.

It is not yet clear from the current beta information whether repeated Legacy resets increase in price. The first 10-gold cost is established, but a scaling respec fee should not be assumed until Blizzard's final system or additional resets confirm it.

Which Trainer Can Reset Legacy Points?

You need to speak with a trainer for the class you are currently playing.

For example, a Hunter should use a Hunter trainer. Visiting an unrelated class trainer, such as a Warrior trainer while playing Hunter, does not provide the Legacy reset option.

This is worth checking if you know resets exist but cannot find the dialogue option. The issue may simply be that you are speaking with the wrong type of trainer rather than missing something inside the Legacy menu.

Is There a Cooldown for Resetting Legacy Points?

There is not enough confirmed information yet to say that Legacy Point resets have a fixed cooldown.

The current beta establishes that Legacy points can be reset through a class trainer and that the first reset costs 10 gold, but it does not establish a repeat-reset cooldown or a confirmed long-term price curve.

Until that is finalized, the safest approach is to assume resets are possible but not free and avoid spending Legacy Points purely for short-term testing unless you are comfortable paying to undo the setup later.

When Should You Reset Your Legacy Points?

A reset makes the most sense when your account priorities have changed enough that several invested ranks are no longer helping you.

If you initially put points into profession bonuses but later shift toward exploration, combat support, or another Legacy branch, reclaiming those points can be worth the 10-gold fee. The same applies if you invested heavily in a perk for a profession you no longer use.

Fishing is a good example because the Professions tree includes Luremaster, which can increase your returns while using fishing lures. If you are actively leveling or farming the profession, that can be valuable; if you stop fishing entirely, those ranks may be better spent elsewhere. Our WoW Forever How to Fish guide covers the profession itself, including poles, lures, Fishing skill, and schools.

Because Legacy progression is account-wide, it is also worth thinking beyond the character standing at the trainer. A perk that does little for your current alt may still be useful across the rest of your account, so reset based on your overall Legacy plan rather than one character's immediate needs.

If you are still planning which characters to level for your account-wide progression, our WoW Forever Best Race for Each Class guide breaks down the strongest Alliance and Horde race choices for all nine classes.

For now, the important answer is simple: go to your own class trainer and use the Legacy reset option. Expect the first respec to cost 10 gold, while repeat-reset pricing and any cooldown remain unconfirmed during the current WoW Forever beta.
