Vessels are undead skeleton enemies in Avowed. This guide explains what they are, where to find them, and how to deal with them like a boss.

What Are Vessels?

Vessels are skeleton enemies that appear in areas like Emerald Stair's Grim Wetlands and various dungeons filled with undead creatures. They are one of the most common types of undead enemies in the game.

Some important things to know about Vessels:

  • Skeletons are considered Vessels.

  • Shadows, even though they often appear alongside Skeletons, are not considered Vessels.

  • Weapons with Vessel-related enchantments do extra damage to them.

How Do We Know Skeletons Are Vessels?

Skeletons take extra damage from weapons with Vessel-slaying enchantments. A test using the Giant’s Slumber Spear showed that Skeletons received around 20% more damage compared to other enemies like Sporelings and Xaurips. This confirms that Skeletons count as Vessels in combat.

Best Items for Fighting Vessels

If you want to deal more damage to Vessels, use the Giant’s Slumber Spear, which increases damage against them by 20%. If you want to take less damage from them, the Berath’s Blessed Ward trinket reduces damage taken from Vessels by 5%.

Using these items can make fighting Vessels easier, especially in areas where undead enemies are common.
