Donkey Kong Bananza Chip Exchange Guide

Donkey Kong Bananza Chip Exchange Guide

Written by Andrew Hammel | Donkey Kong Bananza

Chips, aka “Banandium Chips”, can be exchanged for extra Banandium Gems at special shops in Donkey Kong Bananza, but you’ll need to find a Chip Exchange first. These locations are rare and come with a rising cost the more you trade at the same spot.

Where to Find Chip Exchanges

The first Chip Exchange is in SL200, inside the Hilltop Layer. From the entrance, go left to find a cluster of three shops. The middle one is the Chip Exchange, marked by a blue hex icon with a yellow circle.

You’ll trade 10 Banandium Chips and 100 Gold for one Banandium Gem. This cost increases each time you trade at the same exchange. Only the first gem counts toward that layer’s collectible total. All extras go into your general gem pool for buying skills.

If you need more gems later, you can fast travel back to SL200. Or, you can use the respec system to refund skills and reassign them without needing more gems.

How to Get Banandium Chips

Banandium Chips are small white hex shapes with a pink sparkle in the middle. You’ll mostly get them from:

  • Digging through terrain

  • Smashing boxes

  • Defeating enemies

  • Opening buried chests

Chips drop less often than Gold, but they’re still easy to farm if you keep moving. You can check how many you have in the top right of your screen under your Gold total.

Final Blurb

Banandium Chip Exchanges let you trade extra resources for skill gems, helping you grow stronger outside of collectibles. Use fast travel to revisit exchange points, and always be mindful of the rising cost.
