You click Launch in Steam. Anti-cheat pops up. Then nothing. The game doesn’t start, and Steam just shows the Launch button again. No error. Just frustration.

Let’s see if we can help fix that.

Try These Fixes

1. Open the Game from the Folder

  • Go to your Steam Library.

  • Right-click FragPunk > Manage > Browse local files.

  • Find Fragpunk.exe. Double-click it to open the game.

  • If it works, make a shortcut for your desktop.

2. Restart Your PC

  • Simple, but it helps more than you’d think.

  • After restarting, try launching the game again.

3. Run Steam as Administrator

  • Close Steam.

  • Right-click the Steam icon > Run as administrator.

  • Try opening FragPunk again.

Big Problem: Your CPU Might Be Too Old

FragPunk needs a feature called AVX2. Some older CPUs don’t have it, and the game won’t run if that’s the case.

Your CPU must be at least:

  • Intel i3-4000 or higher

  • Intel i5-4000 or higher

  • Intel i7-4000 or higher

  • AMD FX-9000 or higher

  • AMD Ryzen 3 1200 or higher

If your CPU is older than these, the game won’t launch—no matter what you try.

How to Check Your CPU

  1. Press Windows + R, type dxdiag, press Enter.

  2. Look for Processor info.

  3. Google your CPU model + “AVX2” to check if it’s supported.

General Advice for Game Launch Problems

If this happens with other games too, here are some good steps to try:

  • Update your graphics drivers (NVIDIA/AMD).

  • Update Windows to the latest version.

  • Reinstall the game if files are missing or broken.

  • Turn off background apps—some can block games.

  • Check your firewall or antivirus—they might be stopping the game.

  • Run the game as admin like you did with Steam.

Final Blurb

Sometimes it’s a quick fix, and sometimes it’s your CPU waving a little white flag. If FragPunk won’t launch, try these steps—but if your PC is too old, the game might not work for now. Keep an eye out for updates or ask the devs to lighten up on the requirements. You deserve to game in peace.
