Trying to get better loot from expeditions in Two Point Museum, but all you get is junk-tier fossils? Sounds like your Survey Level needs a boost. Here’s a quick and easy guide to what it is and how to level it up fast.

What Is Survey Level?

  • Each expedition site has a Survey Level.

  • Higher Survey Level = better-quality exhibits (rare stuff, more Buzz).

  • You increase Survey Level by visiting the same spot multiple times.

How To Increase Survey Level

1. Do More Expeditions to the Same Place

  • Every time you visit a spot, Survey Level goes up a little.

  • The more you go, the better your chances at high-quality rewards.

2. Use Detailed Survey Mode

  • Before sending your team out, select Detailed Survey.

  • This takes twice as long but gives triple the Survey gain.

  • Worth it if you're hunting for epic or pristine loot.

3. Bring Experts with the Survey Skill

  • Staff with Survey skill give a boost to Survey Level gain.

  • The more skilled they are, the faster you level up the site.

4. Use a Survey Scanner

  • Craft a Survey Scanner in your Workshop (Cargo Item).

  • Using it gives a huge boost—about half a Survey Level in one trip.

  • Handy if you’re tired of scraping the bottom of the fossil barrel.

Why Survey Level Matters

  • Higher levels unlock better exhibit quality—from Basic to Pristine.

  • After hitting Pristine, you unlock a special Event that boosts reward quality even more.

  • Basically, if you want top-tier stuff, Survey Level is key.

Final Blurb

Want better loot? Keep revisiting the same spot, use Detailed Survey, bring Survey-skilled staff, and pack a Survey Scanner. It’s a little grindy, but hey—great exhibits don’t dig themselves up.
