Sometimes, running into a fight head-on isn’t the best idea. Maybe you're outnumbered, low on health, or just in the mood to be a sneaky menace. Whatever the case, stealth kills and knockouts are great alternatives when you want to deal with enemies quietly. Here’s a guide on how to master both.

How to Unlock Stealth Kills

You can’t just strangle someone and call it a day. For a proper stealth kill, you need a dagger. There are two ways to get one:

  1. Buy a Dagger – Visit Tachov’s Blacksmith during the Tachov Blacksmith questline and purchase one.

  2. Steal a Dagger – Head to Lower Semine Mill during the Miller questline and "borrow" a dagger. Just make sure no one sees you unless you enjoy being chased.

Once you have your dagger, equip it in your inventory before trying to assassinate anyone.

How to Stealth Kill

With your dagger equipped, crouch and sneak behind your target. Coming at them from the side or front will likely get you spotted. Get close but stay out of their line of sight. Once the "Stealth Kill" button appears, hold F on PC to execute. After the job is done, you can either leave the body where it falls or carry it away to avoid unwanted attention.

How to Knock Out an Enemy

Knocking someone out is a solid non-lethal option when you want them out of the way without actually killing them. Like a stealth kill, crouch and sneak behind your target. When close, press F on PC to knock them out.

However, your Strength stat matters. If you’re too weak, the enemy may resist. If a sword icon appears, they’re about to fight back. If a green shield appears, you need to block (right mouse button) at the right time to finish the knockout.

How to Improve Your Stealth Kills and Knockouts

If your attempts keep failing, it’s probably because you need to level up. Here are some perks that can help:

  • Tight Grip – Increases strength, making knockouts and stealth kills more reliable.

  • Sandman – Unlocks at level 12 and improves your ability to take down enemies silently.

  • Leshy 1 – Boosts stealth in wooded areas, making silent takedowns easier.

Final Blurb

If you want to be an effective assassin, get a dagger and improve your strength. If you prefer non-lethal takedowns, train your knockout skill and pick easier targets. Either way, knowing how to deal with enemies quietly can save you a lot of trouble—and a lot of unnecessary sword wounds.
