Is Playing Solo Worth It in RuneScape: Dragonwilds?

To get right into it, yes, you can absolutely play RuneScape: Dragonwilds solo—but whether it’s fun solo kind of depends on what kind of player you are.

The Good News
You don’t need teammates. You can chop wood, mine ore, build a base, and fight dragons all by yourself. The world doesn’t lock anything behind multiplayer.
Worlds are private, which means when you create a world, you control it. No trolls can barge in and wreck your stuff unless you invite them.
You still have the same core experience as playing with a group. The crafting, skilling, and combat systems are fully accessible whether you're solo or co-op.
Some of us have given it a go and honestly it’s been fun, but admittedly not as fun as with a group in our opinion (as with most things).
The Caveats
That said, playing alone has some friction:
The dragon in the tutorial will find you. Hiding behind walls? Inside? Doesn’t matter. It’s got X-ray vision and zero chill.
Ambush events can be intense. Enemies spawn right on top of you so it can be hard sometimes to survive.
Base attacks can be a little awkward. Goblins teleport into your base like they’re fast-traveling with premium membership. Defenses don’t seem to matter much, and sometimes the best plan is letting yourself get knocked out so they go away.
Some of this will (hopefully) improve with balance patches. But right now, it can feel like the game punishes solo builders just for trying to exist.
Final Blurb
Solo is definitely doable, and even fun in short bursts, especially if you’re here for the skilling and crafting. But if you’re looking for a cozy base-building experience without mobs teleporting through your floorboards, you may want to wait for a few more patches. Or at least be ready to take a few dragon blasts to the face like a champ.
