At the end of Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2, you finally face Istvan Toth at Nebakov Fortress. You have two choices: fight him in a duel or kill him instantly.

Here’s a simple guide to help you decide what to choose and the outcomes.

Option 1: Kill Istvan Instantly (Dishonorable Way)

If you don’t care about fairness, you can stab him right away. No fight, no risk.

How to Kill Him Quickly

  • When the duel starts, decline it.

  • Henry automatically stabs Istvan, and he falls out the window.

  • That’s it. Fight over.

Outcome:

  • Istvan dies instantly without a fight.

  • You still get your sword back.

Option 2: Duel Istvan Toth (Honorable Way)

If you want to fight like a true knight, accept Istvan’s duel. The good news? He isn’t wearing armor, making this fight easier than most.

How to Win the Duel

  • Block first, attack second – Let him swing, then counter.

  • Use fast strikes – Aim for head and chest since he has no armor.

  • Manage stamina – Don’t swing wildly; save energy for counters.

  • Win clinches – Press F when close to push him back.

  • Bait him into mistakes – Dodge his heavy swings and punish him.

Outcome:

  • You defeat him fairly and regain your sword.

  • He still dies, but at least you fought with honor… If you care.

Which Should You Choose?

  • Duel if you want honor and a proper fight.

  • Kill him instantly if you just want to end it fast.

Either way, Istvan Toth dies—there’s no saving him, and it ultimately doesn’t really matter in the long-term which choice you make. Just do what your gut tells you!
