In Mirthwood, the In the Wolves' Den quest tasks you with assisting the owners of Vinter’s Vale Winery by eliminating a nearby wolf pack threatening their establishment. Here’s a guide on what to do:

Quest Overview

  • Objective: Locate and eliminate the wolf pack residing in a cave east of Vinter’s Vale Winery.

  • Reward: Increased renown and valuable loot from defeated wolves.

Steps to Complete the Quest

  1. Initiate the Quest:

    • Travel to Vinter’s Vale Winery, situated in the northeast corner of the Old Forest region.

    • At the winery's entrance archway, find and read the quest note to begin the quest.

  2. Locate the Wolf Cave:

    • Head northeast from the winery yard, following the cliffside.

    • Look for a cave entrance marked by explosive barrels, indicating the wolves' den.

  3. Prepare for Combat:

    • Before entering the cave, ensure you are well-equipped with appropriate armor and weapons.

    • Carry sufficient healing items to sustain yourself during the battle.

  4. Eliminate the Wolf Pack:

    • Enter the cave cautiously, as multiple wolves inhabit the area.

    • Engage the wolves one at a time to avoid being overwhelmed.

    • Utilize the cave's layout to your advantage, retreating when necessary to manage the wolves effectively.

  5. Collect Loot:

    • After defeating all the wolves, loot their bodies to obtain leather and other valuable items.

    • Explore the cave for additional resources, such as ores that can be mined with a pickaxe and a chest containing loot.

  6. Complete the Quest:

    • With the wolf pack eliminated, the quest is complete, and your renown increases.

    • Return to Vinter’s Vale Winery to inform the owners of your success, if desired.

Tips

  • Combat: Approach wolves individually to prevent facing multiple enemies at the same time.

  • Gathering: Take advantage of the cave's resources by mining ores and opening chests.

  • Healing: Carry enough healing items to maintain your health during combat.
