RPG

In Avowed, during the Fires in the Mines quest, you’ll clear out a sulfur mine filled with spiders—but at the end, you’ll face an important choice: destroy the mine or keep it open? Here are the options laid out so you can choose what to do.

Option 1: Blow Up the Mine

  • Talk to Darle at the mine exit.

  • He asks you to burn the mine to prevent it from fueling a war.

  • Use fire-based attacks (spells, Kai’s Firestarter, or bombs) to ignite the sulfur deposits.

  • The mine collapses permanently, and you lose access forever.

What Happens If You Destroy It?

✔ No future war involvement (possible story consequences).
✔ Darle is pleased.
✖ No rewards from Seyon.
✖ The mine is lost—you can’t return for loot.

Option 2: Keep the Mine and Fight Darle

  • Refuse Darle’s request, and he will attack you.

  • Defeat him (he is an easy fight with only a sword).

  • Return to Seyon for a gold reward.

  • The mine stays open, letting you loot it later.

What Happens If You Save It?

✔ Get money from Seyon.
✔ Can return to the mine later for loot.
✖ The mine might be used in future conflicts.

Which Choice Is Better?

  • For rewards and access to loot, keep the mine open.

  • For moral reasons or roleplay, destroy it to prevent war.

Both choices affect the world, but the long-term impact is unknown. Pick based on what fits your character’s decisions best.
