WoW Housing How to Make Private Neighborhood

Private neighborhoods in World of Warcraft let you build your own small housing community with friends. They’re called Charter Neighborhoods, and they work like private instances that only invited players can join. Here’s how to make one from scratch.
Creating a Private Neighborhood
To start your own private neighborhood, head to your faction’s main housing zone. Alliance players go through the Founder's Point portal in Stormwind, while Horde players use the Razorwind Shores portal in Orgrimmar. Near that portal, look for the Tauren Housing Steward NPC.
Talk to the steward and choose the option to create a Charter Neighborhood. You’ll be asked to name your new neighborhood before confirming. After that, the game gives you a charter just like a guild form, and you’ll need to gather ten signatures from ten different player accounts to activate it.
Once all ten players sign, your neighborhood is created instantly, and everyone who signed can move in. Each Charter Neighborhood supports up to fifty-five plots, and if your group fills most of them, the game automatically adds another subdivision.
Managing Your Private Neighborhood
After creation, you can open the Neighborhood Settings menu from your Housing Dashboard. This menu lets you invite players, remove them, or adjust permissions. You can choose who can claim plots, edit decor, or take part in neighborhood activities once Endeavors go live.
Only players you invite can enter your Charter Neighborhood. They’ll find it listed under the private section of the House Finder menu after they accept your invite.
If your active member count ever drops below ten players, the neighborhood goes dormant. The system will eventually move everyone’s houses to public neighborhoods until enough active players return.
Claiming and Building
Once your Charter Neighborhood is live, every invited member can claim a plot like normal. Open the Housing Dashboard, pick your private neighborhood from the list, and click Visit. Then walk up to an open signpost, click Buy, and your house will appear right away.
Each player’s decor and housing level progress carry over automatically. Everything works the same as public housing except for who’s allowed to join.
Final Blurb
Making a private neighborhood in WoW is perfect for small groups who want their own shared space away from crowded zones. Talk to the Housing Steward, grab ten friends for signatures, and start building your exclusive neighborhood. Once it’s live, you can invite others, decorate freely, and shape your own corner of Azeroth together.
