Ace Combat 8 Assault Records
Ace Combat 8 Assault Records track the notable enemy pilots and elite units you defeat throughout the Campaign, but completing the full set takes more than simply clearing every mission. Several records are connected to hidden Ace spawns, unusual mission conditions, and one important cross-mission requirement that can easily leave gaps in your collection.

How to Get All 83 Assault Records in Ace Combat 8
There are 83 Assault Records in Ace Combat 8: 52 records from special enemy units that mostly appear naturally during the Campaign, and 31 conditional Aces that only spawn on Veteran difficulty or higher after you complete a specific mission requirement.
For the conditional Aces, meeting the spawn condition is not enough. Destroy the named aircraft and then finish the mission so the record is properly saved.
Assault Records Requirements
Total Records → 83
Special-Unit Records → 52
Conditional Aces → 31
Conditional Ace Difficulty → Veteran, Elite, or Ace
After Killing an Ace → Finish the mission
Best Cleanup Method → Free Mission after completing the Campaign
You can check your current collection through Campaign → Data Viewer → Campaign Data → Campaign Assault Records. Do this before starting cleanup so you only replay missions that still have something missing.
Veteran is enough for the conditional Ace spawns, so there is no need to make every cleanup run harder unless you are also working toward another difficulty-related goal.
All 31 Conditional Ace Assault Records
The 31 conditional Aces are the records that require specific actions. Their conditions range from timed kills and protection objectives to flying through particular structures on the map.

For the entries where the current lists do not yet provide a confirmed callsign, the spawn condition is still usable. Complete the requirement, watch for the newly appearing named aircraft, destroy it, and finish the mission.
Best Way to Clean Up Missing Assault Records
Do not replay every mission in order. The fastest cleanup starts by checking Campaign Assault Records and making a list of the exact entries you are missing.
Then handle Mission 18 before Mission 28 if any of the Lux Lunae 22nd Unit records are empty. After that, work through the remaining conditional Aces based on what type of requirement they use.
Efficient Assault Record Cleanup
1. Finish the Campaign
2. Check Campaign Assault Records
3. Replay missing conditional Aces on Veteran or higher
4. Complete Mission 18 before Mission 28 if needed
5. Use the right aircraft and SP weapon for each trigger
6. Destroy the spawned Ace
7. Finish the mission
8. Check the record before starting another replay
The loadout matters more on some records than others. Timed bomber or surface-target conditions become much easier when you build specifically around the objective instead of forcing the same aircraft into every replay.
The Ace Combat 8 best parts guide covers the upgrades that help with missile reload, guidance, maneuverability, and other useful cleanup advantages.
Destroy Shadow 24 in Mission 18 Before Mission 28
The most important Assault Record dependency crosses between two different missions.
During Mission 18, destroy Shadow 24 near the launch area during the launch sequence. This allows Curis, the F-15J conditional Ace, to appear and also satisfies the requirement for the Lux Lunae 22nd Unit to appear later in Mission 28.
That Mission 28 unit contains five Su-57 records:
Doctus
Salatrix
Acrobates
Anteros
Ares
If all five are missing, repeatedly replaying Mission 28 will not solve the problem if Shadow 24 was never destroyed in Mission 18.
Harmonius is separate. Its Mission 28 condition is still to destroy 5 bombers within the first 5 minutes.
Easy-to-Miss Assault Record Requirements
A few conditions are especially likely to cause wasted replays because they reward behavior that differs from the fastest normal mission clear.
Mission 16 Currus Requires You to Let the UAVs Launch
A normal Mission 16 clear encourages you to identify and destroy the disguised terrorist ships quickly. Currus requires the opposite outcome: the UAV launch must begin.
Allow the mission to reach the UAV phase, then look for Currus in the F-16C and destroy it before completing the rest of the operation.
If you need help finding the terrorist vessels before doing a normal clear, the Ace Combat 8 Mission 16 ship locations guide covers the northwest search area, red sun markings, cranes, and the third ship reveal.
Four Aces Are Triggered by Where You Fly
These records do not care how quickly you destroy enemies. You have to fly through a specific route or structure before the Ace appears.
Route-Based Aces
Mission 4 — Auster → Fly into the tunnel
Mission 25 — Silacrum → Fly between the floating Podarges and the ocean
Mission 27 — Stiria → Fly through a gap between Fatsia's spokes
Mission 29 — Prudens → Fly underneath an urban highway bridge
If one of these records is empty, farming additional kills will not help. Trigger the route first and then look for the named aircraft.
Timed Ace Requirements
The timed records are easiest when you know the condition before the mission begins and ignore anything that does not contribute to it.
Timed Assault Records
Mission 2 → Destroy 4 aircraft within 3 minutes
Mission 6 → Destroy 5 TGTs within 3 minutes
Mission 10 → Destroy an airship within 70 seconds of laser targeting
Mission 12 → Destroy every LCAC within 3 minutes of takeoff
Mission 23 → Destroy all Lux Lunae Ace units within 3 minutes of arrival
Mission 28 → Destroy 5 bombers within 5 minutes
Mission 23 is especially efficient because Milvus and Cantrix share the same condition. One successful Lux Lunae clear can trigger both Aces in the same sortie.
Some Assault Records Require the Wrong Normal Mission Priority
Several conditions become easier once you stop trying to play the mission the fastest normal way.
Mission 11 is one example. Larus requires every Shadow to be destroyed before the Podarge, so rushing the main transport objective can close the spawn window.
Mission 15 requires another deliberate pause. Destroy one Ladon to satisfy the first part of the condition, kill Lupus, and only then destroy the second Ladon.
Mission 22 is based on approach rather than firepower. Caligo requires you to get close to the Celaeno without being detected, so starting the encounter aggressively can ruin the attempt before the Ace ever appears.
During an Assault Record run, the spawn condition should take priority over the fastest normal mission strategy.
Finish the Mission After Killing the Ace
Once the named Ace is destroyed, complete the rest of the sortie.
Do not restart immediately after the kill just because the difficult part is finished. The record needs the completed mission, so abandoning the sortie can force you to repeat the entire spawn condition again.
This is worth keeping in mind when choosing a loadout. Leave enough ammunition and survivability to complete the actual mission after the Ace hunt is over.
All 52 Special-Unit Assault Records
The remaining 52 records come from special enemy formations encountered during the Campaign. These usually enter their missions automatically and do not use the same hidden spawn requirements as the conditional Aces.
You still need to destroy the individual named aircraft, so make sure the formation is actually cleared before ending the mission.

What Do Assault Records Unlock?
Defeating the conditional Aces unlocks unique paint schemes associated with their aircraft types, so the collection also feeds into Campaign aircraft customization.
The Ace Combat 8 change skins guide covers where to equip the paint schemes you unlock.
Filling all 83 Assault Records also completes A Record of Rivalry.
Finish Assault Records Before Grinding MRP
Assault Record cleanup already adds mission completions, aircraft kills, and MRP, so it makes sense to finish these replays before dedicating time to a pure currency grind.
Once the missing records are complete, the Ace Combat 8 best MRP farming guide covers the missions that are more efficient when earning MRP is the only remaining goal.
Why Is an Assault Record Still Missing?
If a conditional Ace is not appearing, first check the difficulty. The 31 hidden Aces require Veteran, Elite, or Ace.
If the difficulty is correct, verify the exact mission condition. Similar actions do not necessarily count. Destroying the Land Aegis normally is different from destroying it through the required chain reaction, and flying near Fatsia's spokes is different from actually passing through the gap.
If the Ace spawned and you destroyed it, make sure the mission was completed afterward.
For the five Lux Lunae 22nd Unit records in Mission 28, return to Mission 18 if necessary and destroy Shadow 24 during the launch sequence before trying Mission 28 again.
Checking Campaign → Data Viewer → Campaign Data → Campaign Assault Records after each successful run is the easiest way to confirm the kill saved and avoid replaying a mission you have already finished.
