AION 2 How to Increase Combat Power
Combat Power in AION 2 is not linked to one piece of gear or one upgrade system. It combines strength from across your character, which is why simply replacing your weapon may not fix a low CP score. If you are trying to raise Combat Power quickly, the best approach is to fix your biggest unfinished upgrades first instead of spreading resources evenly across every system.

How to Increase Combat Power Fast in AION 2
The fastest way to increase Combat Power is to work through your character in this order: fix weak or empty equipment slots, upgrade the skills and Stigmas you actually use, spend available Daevanion Points, improve your Arcana setup, and then work through permanent stat systems such as Genus Insight, Wings, Titles, Skins, Pets, and Pantheon.
Best Combat Power Upgrade Order
1. Equip your strongest gear and fill every slot.
2. Improve gear through its available upgrade systems.
3. Level the Active Skills, Passives, and Stigmas you use.
4. Spend unused Daevanion Points.
5. Fill and improve your Arcana setup.
6. Increase Genus Insight.
7. Collect and improve Wings, Pets, Titles, and Skins.
8. Improve your Pantheon displays.
If your CP suddenly feels much lower than players with similar equipment, check those systems before assuming you simply need a rarer weapon. A character can have respectable gear while leaving a large amount of Combat Power sitting unused in skills, Stigmas, Daevanion, Arcana, and permanent collection bonuses.
Equip and Upgrade Better Gear First
Start with equipment because it is the easiest place to find an obvious hole. Every usable equipment slot should be filled, and outdated weapons, armor, and accessories should be replaced as stronger pieces become available.
Main Episode and Regional quests supply much of your earlier equipment. Expeditions and later dungeon content become increasingly important once quest rewards stop providing meaningful upgrades.
Do not judge equipment only by its base rarity either. Enhancement, socketed stones, Soul Binding, and the other upgrades attached to a piece can all contribute to your character's overall stats. A developed piece can therefore be much more valuable than an untouched replacement that merely looks better at first glance.
If your Combat Power is low, check gear for:
Empty equipment slots
Old low-stat pieces
Missing enhancements
Unused Manastone or Theostone opportunities
Unfinished Soul Binding or other available gear upgrades
Upgrade the Skills and Stigmas You Actually Use
Skill upgrades are one of the easiest sources of Combat Power to overlook because they are not visible on your character model. Your Active Skills, Passive Skills, and Stigmas all contribute to the strength of your build, so leaving important abilities underleveled can create a sizeable gap even when your equipment looks fine.
Prioritize the skills that actually make up your build rather than upgrading everything equally. Your main damage skills, healing abilities, important passives, core buffs, and frequently equipped Stigmas should receive resources before abilities you rarely use.
Stigmas deserve particular attention once they unlock because upgrading an equipped Stigma can produce a meaningful CP increase while also directly improving one of the abilities defining your build.
Your best upgrade order will vary by class. If you are still deciding which character deserves the majority of your resources, our AION 2 Best Solo Class for PvE and PvP guide compares all eight launch classes for independent play.
Spend Your Daevanion Points
Unused Daevanion Points are another easy source of missing Combat Power. Exploration objectives and Regional content feed into Daevanion, and the board contains both direct combat bonuses and improvements to individual skills.
Do not feel obligated to complete every available node in sequence. Prioritize nodes that benefit the abilities and combat stats your build actually uses, then branch into secondary bonuses afterward.
This makes Exploration worth doing even if you are primarily focused on combat. Completing nearby objectives while moving through the campaign lets you build Daevanion power alongside your normal leveling rather than returning later to clear an entire backlog.
Do Not Leave Your Arcana Behind
Arcana becomes another major source of character strength once the system opens. Cards can provide additional stats and increase skill levels, so empty Arcana slots or badly neglected cards can leave a noticeable amount of power unused.
You do not need perfect high-rarity cards before using the system. Equip useful cards first, then replace them as your Transcendence farming produces better rarities and better skill combinations.
The bigger mistake is pouring resources into a card purely because its rarity is high. A card that improves skills central to your build can be more useful than one filled with bonuses you barely use, even if both increase the number on your character sheet.
Increase Genus Insight, Wings, Titles, Pets, and Pantheon
Once the obvious gear and skill upgrades are handled, the smaller permanent stat systems become increasingly important. These bonuses may look modest individually, but they accumulate across your entire account and character.
Genus Insight comes from developing your Pet collection and its associated boards. As your Insight increases, more stat opportunities become available, making it one of the larger long-term sources of character power.
Wings, Pets, Titles, and Skins can also provide owned or equipped stat bonuses. This is why collecting an item can still strengthen your character even when you are not actively displaying that particular cosmetic.
Pantheon adds another layer of stats through its Colossus, Statues, and Artworks. It is easy to ignore because it sits outside the normal equipment screen, but leaving weak Pantheon pieces equipped means leaving Combat Power behind.

Combat Power vs Item Level in AION 2
Combat Power and Item Level are not the same thing, and knowing which one you need can save a lot of wasted upgrades.
Item Level is heavily tied to equipment and is commonly used as an entry requirement for PvE content such as higher dungeon stages. Combat Power is a broader measurement that accounts for strength coming from many more character systems.
That means you can increase Combat Power without getting a major Item Level increase, and two characters with similar Item Level can still have noticeably different CP.
If a dungeon is locked because your Item Level is too low, prioritize upgrades that directly improve Item Level. If your gear is already sufficient but groups are asking for higher Combat Power, start checking skills, Stigmas, Daevanion, Arcana, Genus Insight, and the permanent collection systems instead.
Most importantly, do not build solely around making the CP number larger. Combat Power is a useful summary of overall character strength, but a stat that is poor for your class does not suddenly become desirable just because it raises CP. Develop the systems above while still prioritizing the stats and skills that make your actual build stronger.
