Dressmaker Achievements Guide

Dressmaker Achievements Guide

Dressmaker has 32 achievements, but trying to chase them one at a time is an inefficient way to approach the game. Most of the list falls into a few repeating patterns: finishing a character's major commissions, completing every dress tied to a special event, and handling a smaller group of unusual requirements such as using 50 meters of trim or placing 300 accessories on one dress. The cleanest route is to progress the commission chains normally, make sure you finish entire event sets rather than only the dresses you like, and leave the expensive or deliberately excessive achievements for later when money is no longer your main problem.

How to Unlock All 32 Dressmaker Achievements

The easiest way to get every achievement in Dressmaker is to treat the game as four overlapping checklists rather than 32 unrelated objectives. Finish every major commission for each named client, complete every dress requested for the game's larger events, watch for the handful of achievements tied to specific conversations or side commissions, and then clean up the deliberately expensive or excessive crafting requirements once you have enough resources to waste.

Best Completion Order
Progress the main client commissions normally.
Finish every dress belonging to each special event before moving on.
Complete the pigeon commissions whenever they appear.
Choose Leech during Vivian's animal conversation.
Save the 50m trim, expensive purchases, 300 accessories, and perfect 100% dress for dedicated cleanup.

The important distinction is between an individual dress and a completed set. Several achievements are awarded for finishing every dress associated with one event, so doing one or two commissions from that event isn't enough. I would therefore keep the event achievements in mind whenever a new group of themed requests starts appearing.

Finish Every Major Commission for the Main Clients

Ten achievements are tied directly to completing every major commission from a particular character. These are some of the most natural achievements in the game because they reward seeing an entire client's commission chain through rather than performing a strange one-off task.

Client Commission Achievements
Good Girl one Vlad — Complete every major commission from Vivian.
Swan Song — Complete every major commission from Edith.
Go Off, Queen! — Complete every major commission from Aldora.
Caw Evermore — Complete every major commission from Alice.
Prudence and Prejudice — Complete every major commission from Prudence.
Snitches Get Stitches — Complete every major commission from Dorothy.
A Rose By Any Other Name — Complete every major commission from Rose.
Draw to Hue — Complete every major commission from Priya.
G.0.A.T — Complete every major commission from Narue.
Reap What You Sew — Complete every major commission from Fiona.

The safest approach here is simply not to abandon a character's storyline because you've already unlocked another commission elsewhere. If you're working toward 100% achievements, every one of these clients eventually needs their major requests finished anyway.

I would also avoid assuming that finishing an event automatically finishes the relevant client's achievement. The achievement descriptions distinguish between completing a character's major commissions and completing every dress belonging to a particular event, so it's better to track those as separate objectives unless the game confirms that a commission advances both.

Complete Every Dress for Each Major Event

The largest achievement category is built around Dressmaker's special occasions. These are not simply “make one wedding dress” or “finish one fair commission” achievements. The requirement repeatedly says to complete all of the dresses or assignments connected to the event.

Event Achievements
Laid To Dress — Complete all dresses for Duke's funeral.
Style Goals — Complete every dress for the Woman's Sporting Day Contest.
Dart Deco — Complete every dress request for Priya's exhibition opening.
Rooting For You — Complete every dress assignment for the Market Fair.
Hedge Your Bets — Complete all dress requests for Hedge Maze exploration.
Don't Wanna Miss A Spring — Complete all dress assignments for Spring Fate.
Simply Beastly — Complete all dress assignments for the Twillford Pet Show.
Smells Like Sateen Spirit — Complete all dress assignments for Alice's seance.
Newlythreads — Complete all dress assignments for Duke Hassan's wedding.
A Midsummer Night's Seam — Complete all dresses required for the stargazing activity.
Extrav-organza — Complete all dress assignments for the Summer Ball.
On a High Note — Complete all dress assignments for Edith's Opera gala.
Crowning Glory — Complete all dresses for the coronation.
Don We Now Our Gay Apparel — Complete all dresses related to the other wedding.

This is where I think players are most likely to create unnecessary cleanup for themselves. The achievement is attached to the whole occasion, not necessarily the commission that feels like its centerpiece. If an event keeps producing additional dress requests, finish the complete set before mentally checking it off.

You also don't need to optimize these around some special score requirement based on the supplied achievement descriptions. Their stated condition is completion of the relevant event dresses. Save the perfectionism for the achievement that explicitly asks for a 100% dress.

A Few Achievements Don't Fit the Normal Commission Loop

Three achievements are worth remembering because they depend on progression or an unusually specific action rather than simply finishing another event set.

You've Got Mail
Finish Dorothy's first dress to receive Berty.

This one is tied to Dorothy's early progression rather than completing her entire commission chain. You still need all of Dorothy's major commissions for Snitches Get Stitches, but You've Got Mail should arrive much earlier.

Sucker for Punishment
During the conversation with Vivian about animals, choose Leech.

This is the achievement I'd pay the most attention to during dialogue because its requirement is a specific response rather than crafting something afterward. When the animal conversation with Vivian appears, choose Leech.

Birds of a Feather, Frock Together
Complete every commission received from the pigeon.

Don't dismiss the pigeon commissions as random side content if you're going for all 32 achievements. They form their own completion requirement, so finishing the major named-client storylines won't cover this one for you.

Save the Expensive and Excessive Achievements for Later

The remaining achievements are where I'd deliberately stop playing normally and start doing things specifically because an achievement asks for them. Several consume money or materials for no obvious benefit beyond completion, so there is little reason to force them while you're still resource-starved.

Trim and Proper
Use more than 50 meters of trim on a single dress.

This is essentially a resource-dump achievement. The requirement is specifically more than 50m of trim on one dress, so I'd wait until wasting that amount doesn't interfere with commissions you actually care about completing.

Opulence and Excess
Buy the most expensive appliances and cloth.

Another one I would leave for later. There is no achievement advantage to draining your early-game money just to own the premium options sooner. Progress first and turn this into a purchase checklist once your finances can absorb it.

Sew Long
Complete the Ruffle Skirt cloth design for the first time.

This is a much simpler crafting milestone than the other cleanup objectives. You only need to complete the Ruffle Skirt cloth design once.

Harder than it Seems
Place at least 300 accessories on one dress, then sell the dress.

The final step matters here. The requirement isn't finished when the 300th accessory goes onto the garment; the dress then needs to be sold. This is another achievement I'd create a dedicated throwaway project for rather than turning a normal commission into a 300-accessory nightmare.

99 Problems But A Stitch Ain't One
Create a dress at 100% for the first time.

This is the precision achievement. Every cloth piece and stitched section needs to reach 100%, so unlike the event achievements, simply completing the dress isn't the goal. I'd attempt it on a project where you can slow down and focus entirely on execution rather than combining it with an event you're trying to finish quickly.

Once those cleanup objectives are done, there should be very little reason to grind random dresses hoping another achievement appears. Dressmaker's list is unusually transparent: finish the ten major client chains, clear all 14 event dress groups, handle the three special progression or dialogue requirements, and complete the five crafting and spending challenges. That accounts for all 32 achievements.
