IGTAP Achievements Guide
IGTAP: an Incremental Game That's Also a Platformer has 29 Steam achievements, but most of them are not separate chores you need to grind one by one. A large chunk of the list follows the game's normal progression as new movement abilities, systems, and areas unlock, while the real cleanup comes from secret upgrades, the Vman courses, a few unusual challenges, and the 500-death requirement. The easiest completion route is therefore to play forward normally, explore aggressively whenever new movement tools open previously unreachable space, and save the repetitive achievements for after you've exhausted everything that can advance them naturally.

How to Unlock All 29 IGTAP Achievements
The cleanest route is to separate achievements into things the game gives you for progressing and things that require deliberate behavior. Movement upgrades such as wall jump, dash, double jump, polarity swapping, omni-dash, teleporters, and the upgrade tree all have achievements attached to them, so chasing those individually is mostly unnecessary if you're already advancing through the game.
Best Completion Order
Progress normally and collect every major movement/system unlock.
Revisit old areas whenever a new traversal ability opens additional routes.
Track down every secret upgrade before assuming exploration is finished.
Complete all five Vman courses and the extra Vman-related objective.
Clean up Reverse Current, the spring chain, breaker, music toggle, and other one-off challenges.
Only grind deaths if the 100 and 500 milestones are still unfinished.
The reason I would leave deaths until the end is simple: IGTAP is still a platformer. Failed jumps, Vman attempts, secret hunting, and course repetition can all contribute toward the 100- and 500-death achievements. Farming deaths first just throws away progress you could have earned while doing something useful.
Most IGTAP Achievements Come From Normal Progression
These achievements are tied to abilities or systems you unlock while advancing. Unless you're somehow bypassing major parts of progression, I wouldn't worry about them as standalone objectives.
Movement Unlocks
Wall jumping — Unlock the wall jump ability.
Spintap — Unlock the dash ability.
Jump, but again. — Unlock the double jump ability.
Polar increments — Unlock the ability to swap block polarity.
All angle igtap — Unlock the omni-dash.
Jump, but again, again. — Regain the double jump ability.
The interesting part here is not simply collecting the achievement pop-ups. Every new movement option potentially changes what counts as reachable space. If an earlier room looked suspicious but impossible, a new mobility upgrade is your cue to reconsider it rather than assuming it was just decoration.
Incremental Progression
Exponential growth — Plant the upgrade tree.
Stem Cells — Unlock refresh orbs.
Metal in motion — Activate the zip movers.
I am igtapic. — Buy your first atom.
Environmental Energy — Fully grow the upgrade tree.
Collapsing the state — Use a teleporter for the first time.
This group is the other half of IGTAP's identity. The platforming upgrades change how you physically move through the facility, while the incremental systems broaden what you can do over time. For achievement hunting, the useful takeaway is that these are progression checkpoints rather than reasons to interrupt your run and farm something immediately.
Secret Upgrades Are the Exploration Achievements to Watch
Two achievements explicitly care about secret upgrades, which makes these much more important than random side exploration if you're going for 100%.
Secret Upgrade Achievements
Not all those who wander are lost — Find a secret upgrade.
Definitely not lost — Find all secret upgrades.
I wouldn't try to brute-force every secret immediately. IGTAP keeps expanding your movement toolkit, and that means an inaccessible route may simply be designed for a later ability. Mark suspicious paths mentally, continue progressing, and revisit them once wall jumping, double jumping, dashing, polarity swapping, or omni-dash changes what you can reach.
That approach also gives the exploration a useful filter. You don't need to inspect every wall forever; you need to pay attention to spaces that look intentionally placed just beyond your current movement limits.
Several Achievements Break Away From the Normal Progression Loop
This is the group I'd expect to require actual cleanup because the achievement descriptions ask for specific actions rather than simply reaching the next upgrade.
One-Off Challenges
Please Be Quiet — Turn off the music.
Reverse Current — Complete every course in reverse order.
Overdraw — Trip the breaker.
Igtap want boing boing — Bounce on 10 springs without touching the ground.
Please Be Quiet is the easiest achievement on the entire list because its requirement is exactly what it says: disable the music. There's no reason to save that for later unless you actually want the soundtrack running.
Igtap want boing boing is much more execution-based. The important part is maintaining one uninterrupted sequence across 10 springs; touching the ground breaks the condition, so think of it as a chain rather than ten independent bounces.
Reverse Current sounds like one of the more substantial cleanup achievements because it requires completing every course in reverse order. I would leave this until you've already learned the courses in their normal direction. Trying to simultaneously learn a course and solve its reverse version just doubles the amount of information you're processing.
Overdraw only tells us to trip the breaker. The supplied achievement data does not document the exact location or trigger, so I would not invent a switch, room, or power requirement until that interaction is independently confirmed.
The Vman Courses Form Their Own Achievement Chain
The Vman speedrun content accounts for six achievements, and this is one place where the list has a very obvious progression path. You don't need to guess which course matters next: each of the first five has its own achievement.
Vman Course Achievements
Deja vu — Finish Vman course 1.
Getting Faster — Finish Vman course 2.
Half done! — Finish Vman course 3.
igtapithon — Finish Vman course 4.
Waow... so fast — Finish Vman course 5.
Quam Formidolosum — View an ominous message within the Vman speedrun.
I would treat the first five as one continuous challenge set rather than returning to them randomly throughout the playthrough. Each completed course gives you familiarity with how the Vman content expects you to move, so keeping that muscle memory intact should be more useful than constantly bouncing between unrelated systems.
Quam Formidolosum is different because it isn't awarded simply for finishing another numbered course. Its listed requirement is to view an ominous message somewhere within the Vman speedrun. The achievement data doesn't tell us where that message appears or what triggers it, so the useful advice is to pay attention to unusual text or side interactions while working through Vman rather than making up a nonexistent location.
Leave the Death Achievements Until You Know You Actually Need Them
IGTAP has a straightforward three-stage death progression.
Death Achievements
Tis but a flesh wound — Die for the first time.
You Died… alot — Die 100 times.
Why are we still here, just to suffer? — Die 500 times.
The first death is obviously automatic for most players. The other two are where restraint actually saves time. If you've still got five Vman courses, reverse-course clears, secret upgrades, and movement challenges remaining, there is no reason to sit somewhere intentionally dying hundreds of times yet.
Finish everything else first, then see how far the counter has moved naturally. Only the remaining gap is a real grind.
The Final Progression Achievements Are Intentionally Vague
Two achievements describe major game milestones without explaining exactly what happens around them.
Major Milestones
The greatest adventure is what lies ahead — Escape the facility.
You win! — Complete your purpose.
These are best treated as normal progression or ending achievements rather than something to solve from the achievement description alone. “Escape the facility” is reasonably clear as an objective, while “complete your purpose” is intentionally more cryptic.
I wouldn't spoil or invent the ending mechanics just to make the guide look more complete. Progress until the game presents those objectives naturally, and use the rest of the achievement list as your real cleanup checklist afterward.
All 29 IGTAP Achievements
For a quick final check, the full list is: Please Be Quiet, Reverse Current, Tis but a flesh wound, You Died… alot, Why are we still here, just to suffer?, You win!, The greatest adventure is what lies ahead, Not all those who wander are lost, Definitely not lost, Overdraw, Igtap want boing boing, Wall jumping, Spintap, Jump, but again., Polar increments, Exponential growth, Stem Cells, Metal in motion, All angle igtap, Jump, but again, again., I am igtapic., Environmental Energy, Collapsing the state, Deja vu, Getting Faster, Half done!, igtapithon, Waow... so fast, and Quam Formidolosum.
The key to 100% isn't doing all 29 individually as soon as you see them. Let progression unlock most of the list for you, use each new movement ability as a reason to revisit suspicious areas, treat Vman as its own focused challenge block, and save deaths and other repetitive cleanup until you're certain normal play won't finish them for you.
