Minecraft Dungeons 2 Talismans Guide: Effects & Locations

Minecraft Dungeons 2 Talismans Guide: Effects & Locations

Talismans are equippable items in Minecraft Dungeons 2 that provide passive bonuses without replacing your weapons, armor, or Artifacts. You can equip up to three at once, swap them whenever you want, and level each Talisman from Tier I to Tier III simply by keeping it equipped while earning experience.

Some Talismans increase straightforward stats like melee damage, ranged damage, health, or movement speed. Others improve Souls, ammo, loot drops, potion usage, or Artifact cooldowns, while several summon companions instead. Most come from quests, but eight are hidden in secret chests and a few are tied to bosses or other specific encounters.

How Talismans Work in Minecraft Dungeons 2

You can equip three Talismans simultaneously. Each provides a passive effect while equipped, and unlike normal gear, Talismans don't use randomized affixes or rarity rolls.

Every Talisman has three levels: Tier I, Tier II, and Tier III. Increasing the level strengthens its passive effect, with some Talismans receiving substantial improvements by the final tier.

Talisman Basics
• Equip up to 3 Talismans at once
• Talismans can be changed at any time
• Every Talisman has Tier I, II, and III
• Equipped Talismans gain experience
• Higher tiers strengthen the passive bonus
• Talismans do not have random affixes or rarities
• They can come from quests, secret chests, and bosses

Talismans are separate from the enchantment system. Talismans provide passive bonuses from their own equipment slots, while enchantments modify compatible weapons and armor through the Enchantsmith.

The Minecraft Dungeons 2 Enchantments guide covers that system separately.

How to Level Talismans to Tier III

Talismans level by gaining experience while they're equipped. You don't have to take them to a separate upgrade station every time they gain a level.

The important part is that only the Talismans you're actively wearing are gaining that experience. If you constantly rotate between different Talismans, you're also spreading that leveling time across more items.

Higher tiers can significantly improve the original passive. Fist of Iron rises from 10% melee damage at Tier I to 35% at Tier III, while Twisted Tooth goes from 40% increased Soul gain to 140%.

How Talisman Levels Work
• Tier I is the starting level
• Keep the Talisman equipped to gain experience
• Tier II improves the passive effect
• Tier III is the maximum level
• Some Talismans scale through percentages, duration, or thresholds
• Summoning Talismans don't currently have the same complete numerical tier data

How to Get Talismans

Talismans come from several different sources instead of one dedicated vendor or activity.

Most are earned as quest rewards. Others are hidden inside secret chests found across normal areas, Rifts, and Sift Dungeons. A smaller number are associated with specific bosses or encounters.

Main Talisman Sources
• Core quest rewards
• Side quest rewards
• Secret chests
• Rift secrets
• Sift Dungeon secrets
• Specific boss drops or encounters

Because Talismans have fixed effects rather than random stat rolls, collecting a Talisman is effectively unlocking that passive for future use. You don't need to farm repeated copies hoping for a better version.

There Are Eight Secret Talismans

Eight Talismans are tied to secret chests hidden throughout Minecraft Dungeons 2 rather than normal quest completion.

Secret Talismans
• Glowstone Flask — Dungeons
• Ocelot's Paw — Rifts
• Amethyst Lens — Howling Woods
• Thrifty Pendant — Rainy Plains
• Lucky Clover — Frozen Highlands
• Soul Chip — Sift Dungeons
• Medallion of Momentum — Humbler Huskland
• Emerald of Good Fortune — Lullaby Hills

These secret Talismans cover a wide range of bonuses, including potion cooldown, jump attack damage, ranged damage, Emerald-based damage, loot drops, Soul capacity, movement speed, and additional Emeralds.

Amethyst Lens also has conflicting acquisition information in the current sources: one lists a secret chest in Howling Woods, while another lists it as a reward from The Prime Enchanter Revived. Until that is fully settled, both are worth noting.

Damage Talismans

Several Talismans directly increase damage, but they don't all work the same way.

Fist of Iron
• Effect: Increased melee damage
• Tier I: 10%
• Tier II: 20%
• Tier III: 35%
• Location: The Missing Note Blocks

Amethyst Lens
• Effect: Increased ranged damage
• Tier I: 10%
• Tier II: 15%
• Tier III: 25%
• Location: Secret Chest in Howling Woods / also listed with The Prime Enchanter Revived

Ocelot's Paw
• Effect: Increased jumping melee attack damage
• Tier I: 10%
• Tier II: 20%
• Tier III: 35%
• Location: Secret Chest in Rifts

Tendrils of the Sprout
• Tier I: +10% damage while above 95% health
• Tier II: +20% damage while above 85% health
• Tier III: +40% damage while above 75% health
• Location: Currently conflicting between supplied sources

Tendrils is unusual because leveling it improves both sides of the effect: the damage bonus gets larger while the health requirement becomes easier to maintain.

Thrifty Pendant
• Effect: Damage bonus based on Emeralds held
• Tier I: Up to 25% at 7,000 Emeralds
• Tier II: Up to 40% at 8,000 Emeralds
• Tier III: Up to 50% at 9,000 Emeralds
• Location: Secret Chest in Rainy Plains

Health, Movement, Souls, Loot, and Utility Talismans

A large portion of the Talisman pool improves something other than direct weapon damage.

Sigil of Beeswax
• Effect: Increased maximum health
• Tier I: 20%
• Tier II: 25%
• Tier III: 35%
• Location: Illagers from the Rift

Healing Heart

• Tier I: 2% health per second
• Tier II: 6% per second
• Tier III: 10% per second
• Location: Wildflower Warrior in Rainy Plains

Armadillo Amulet
• Effect: Reduced roll cooldown
• Tier I: 20%
• Tier II: 25%
• Tier III: 45%
• Location: Illegal Illager Trials in Rainy Plains

Sculk Badge
• Effect: Increased duration of positive statuses
• Tier I: 10%
• Tier II: 15%
• Tier III: 25%
• Location: Illager Intelligence in Frozen Highlands

Looter's Charm
• Effect: Increased chance for defeated enemies to drop loot
• Tier I: 1%
• Tier II: 2%
• Tier III: 4%
• Location: Gone Fishing in Frozen Highlands

Lucky Clover
• Effect: Chance for additional loot drops
• Tier I: 2%
• Tier II: 4%
• Tier III: 7%
• Location: Secret Chest in Frozen Highlands

The Eye of Experience
• Effect: Increased experience gained
• Tier I: Listed as 3% or 4% depending on current source
• Tier II: 6%
• Tier III: 10%
• Location: Wrath of the Sculkers

Essence of Efficiency
• Effect: Reduced Artifact cooldown
• Tier I: 4%
• Tier II: 8%
• Tier III: 14%
• Location: Breaking Camps in Humbler Huskland

Twig of Dark Oak
• Effect: Increased ammo capacity
• Tier I: 20%
• Tier II: 40%
• Tier III: 60%
• Location: The Missing Note Blocks

Twisted Tooth
• Effect: Increased Soul gain
• Tier I: 40%
• Tier II: 80%
• Tier III: 140%
• Location: Associated with Down in the Deep Dark / Twisted Warden

Soul Chip
• Effect: Increased Soul capacity
• Tier I: 15%
• Tier II: 20%
• Tier III: 35%
• Location: Secret Chest in Sift Dungeons

Medallion of Momentum
• Effect: Increased movement speed after moving for more than 3 seconds
• Tier I: 10%
• Tier II: 20%
• Tier III: 30%

Emerald of Good Fortune
• Effect: Chance to receive additional Emeralds
• Tier I: 10%
• Tier II: 20%
• Tier III: 25%
• Location: Secret Chest in Lullaby Hills

Glowstone Flask
• Effect: Current detailed source lists reduced potion cooldown
• Tier I: 10%
• Tier II: 15%
• Tier III: 25%
• Location: Secret Chest in a dungeon

The current wiki table describes Glowstone Flask differently and doesn't yet provide the same complete tier values, so that wording is still worth treating as launch-period documentation rather than completely settled.

Pet Talismans Summon Companions

Several Talismans summon an ally rather than providing a straightforward percentage-based passive bonus.

Pet Talismans
• Tasty Bone — Summons a wolf — The Silence in Little Howl
• Wobblestone — Summons a wobble — Wobble Run
• Golem Kit — Summons an iron golem — The Final Souldown
• Prickle's Mark — Summons a prickle — A Friend Till the End
• Wonderful Wheat — Summons a llama — Mosstrosity/Moss Monstrosity

The current source information doesn't provide the same detailed Tier I–III stat progression for these summons, so I'm not attaching made-up damage, health, or scaling values to them.

All Minecraft Dungeons 2 Talismans and Locations

The most complete supplied list currently contains 24 Talismans. The table-style checklist below is the fastest way to see what each one does and where it comes from.

All Talismans
• Sigil of Beeswax — Maximum health — Illagers from the Rift
• Tasty Bone — Summons wolf — The Silence in Little Howl
• Twisted Tooth — Soul gain — Down in the Deep Dark / Twisted Warden
• Fist of Iron — Melee damage — The Missing Note Blocks
• Twig of Dark Oak — Ammo capacity — The Missing Note Blocks
• Healing Heart — Out-of-combat healing — Wildflower Warrior
• Armadillo Amulet — Roll cooldown — Illegal Illager Trials
• Sculk Badge — Positive status duration — Illager Intelligence
• Looter's Charm — Enemy loot chance — Gone Fishing
• Tendrils of the Sprout — High-health damage — Current location information conflicts
• Wobblestone — Summons wobble — Wobble Run
• The Eye of Experience — XP gain — Wrath of the Sculkers
• Essence of Efficiency — Artifact cooldown — Breaking Camps
• Golem Kit — Summons iron golem — The Final Souldown
• Prickle's Mark — Summons prickle — A Friend Till the End
• Glowstone Flask — Potion bonus — Secret Chest in Dungeons
• Ocelot's Paw — Jump attack damage — Secret Chest in Rifts
• Amethyst Lens — Ranged damage — Howling Woods / Prime Enchanter Revived
• Thrifty Pendant — Emerald-based damage — Secret Chest in Rainy Plains
• Lucky Clover — Additional loot — Secret Chest in Frozen Highlands
• Soul Chip — Soul capacity — Secret Chest in Sift Dungeons
• Medallion of Momentum — Movement speed — Secret Chest in Humbler Huskland
• Emerald of Good Fortune — Additional Emeralds — Secret Chest in Lullaby Hills
• Wonderful Wheat — Summons llama — Mosstrosity/Moss Monstrosity

That list should continue to get clearer as launch-day documentation settles, particularly around a few conflicting quest rewards and Tier I values. The core system itself is simple: find Talismans, equip up to three, keep them equipped to earn experience, and level the ones you want to use to Tier III.
