Star Wars Zero Company How to Pass Time & Advance Cycles

If you're trying to pass time in Star Wars Zero Company, there isn't a normal Wait or Skip Time button. Instead, time progresses through the game's Cycle system, and completing a Tactical Mission advances the campaign into the next Cycle. Operations can be completed during your current Cycle, but they don't replace the Tactical Mission that ends it.

How to Pass Time in Star Wars Zero Company

To pass time and advance to the next Cycle, you need to complete a Tactical Mission from the Holotable in the Den.

There isn't a separate button that lets you sit at the Den and simply advance the calendar. EA describes each Cycle as ending with a Tactical Mission selection, so that mission is effectively the point where you commit to moving the campaign clock forward.

This is especially important if you're waiting for an Operator to heal, an upgrade to finish construction, or something else tied to Cycle progression. You can't simply press Wait until it's finished; you need to progress the campaign.

I initially expected the game to let you burn an empty Cycle if you wanted to, but the system is really built around making each Tactical Mission a roster-management decision rather than letting you freely skip ahead.

Do Operations Pass Time?

Operations do not work the same way as Tactical Missions for advancing the Cycle.

During each Cycle, you can complete available Operations from the Galaxy Map. These can provide immediate rewards, unlock more Operations or Missions, progress side stories, and sometimes give you choices that affect character relationships.

But the current Cycle doesn't end until you move forward with a Tactical Mission.

That means you should generally check your available Operations before committing to the next Tactical Mission. Both Operations and Missions can expire as Cycles progress, so advancing immediately can mean leaving useful opportunities behind.

How to Pass Time for Medbay Healing

The Medbay is probably the main reason you'll start looking for a way to pass time.

An injured Operator placed in a standard Medbay bed requires one Cycle to recover. Since you can't manually skip a Cycle, you'll need to complete another Tactical Mission using the rest of your available roster and let that Operator recover while they're out.

The Bacta Tank is the alternative. It provides instant recovery rather than making you wait through a Cycle, although healing injured Operators costs Credits.

This makes having a deeper roster much more valuable than it initially looks. Four strong Operators may be enough to deploy, but relying on exactly the same group every mission leaves you with very little room when somebody gets injured.

Once Clone recruitment becomes available, my Star Wars Zero Company how to recruit Clones guide explains how to add custom Clone Operators to that rotation.

What to Do Before Advancing to the Next Cycle

Because you can't freely reverse a Cycle after advancing it, I'd treat selecting a Tactical Mission as the final thing you do at the Den.

Check the Operations that are currently available, make sure injured Operators are assigned for treatment where needed, look at any upgrades you want progressing, and make sure you're comfortable with the squad you'll still have available afterward.

Den construction is also tied to this system. Facility and roster-wide upgrades take at least one Cycle to build, so completing Tactical Missions is how those timers actually move forward as well.

If an injury removes an important specialization from your lineup, you aren't necessarily forced to wait for that exact Operator either. Standard classes can be reassigned once the option becomes available, which I cover in my Star Wars Zero Company how to change class guide.

For example, if your only Medic is recovering, temporarily changing another eligible Operator into Medic may be more useful than trying to find a nonexistent way to skip time.

Build a Roster That Can Survive Missing Operators

The Cycle system makes reserve Operators more important than they might appear at first. Injuries aren't just a health problem; they're effectively a temporary roster restriction because normal healing consumes a Cycle.

I'd avoid building a squad where one particular Operator is the only person capable of filling a critical role. Having alternative frontline, damage, and support options makes it much easier to keep taking Tactical Missions while somebody important recovers.

If you're deciding which roles are worth having backups for, my Star Wars Zero Company best Specializations tier list breaks down which classes bring the most value across different squad compositions.

Can You Skip Time Without Doing a Mission?

No. There currently isn't a normal Pass Time or Wait option in Star Wars Zero Company.

Complete any Operations you want to finish during the current Cycle, prepare your roster and Den, and then complete a Tactical Mission to advance to the next Cycle.

If you're only trying to pass time because someone is injured, use another Operator for the next Tactical Mission or use the Bacta Tank for instant recovery when available. That's ultimately the point of the system: time progression, healing, construction, and squad rotation are all tied to the Tactical Missions you're choosing to take.
