How Saving the Game Works in RuneScape: Dragonwilds

Let’s rip the bandage off up front: RuneScape: Dragonwilds does not support cloud saves right now. If you’re switching between a desktop, laptop, or a handheld like the ROG Ally—you’ll be met with an empty save slot unless you manually move files.
Here’s what you need to know about saving the game:
How Saving Works
Your save is stored locally, on the specific device you're playing on.
That means each computer/device has its own separate saves unless you manually transfer them.
Progress doesn’t sync across devices, even if your Epic and Steam accounts are linked.
Where Are Save Files Stored?
On most systems, your save file should be here:
C:\Users\[YourName]\AppData\Local\RSDragonwilds\Saved\SaveGames
Copy the entire SaveGames folder from this path on your first PC, and paste it in the same location on your second PC. You might need to enable hidden folders in Windows to see AppData.
Can You Use Dropbox or OneDrive?
Technically, yes. Some people have experimented with syncing that folder through a cloud service like Dropbox or OneDrive. But you’ll need to:
Move the save folder into your synced cloud folder.
Use symbolic links (symlinks) to trick the game into reading from the new location.
This isn’t beginner-friendly and could cause issues if not done correctly. We don’t recommend trying this at all.
Final Blurb
Right now, your best bet is to manually copy your save files if you’re planning to swap devices. It’s a bit of a pain, especially for a modern Early Access game—but here’s hoping the devs add cloud saves soon. Until then, maybe just... don’t start a new world on your work laptop unless you really want a second life of dragon-fueled misery.
