How to Survive the Clown in R.E.P.O.
The Clown is a fast, loud, and deeply unpleasant enemy that stomps around like it owns the place. Its main weapon? A deadly laser beam that sweeps across the room, instantly vaporizing anything it touches. When it spots you, it laughs—your cue to start running or praying.
What Makes It Dangerous?
Instant-Kill Laser:
Sweeps horizontally, adjusting to your height, so jumping doesn’t always help.
Cooldown of ~8 seconds after firing, leaving it temporarily stunned.
If the Laser is Cooling Down…
It charges at you and kicks.
The kick does 50 damage and launches you, often causing fatal physics damage.
It will kick hiding players if it suspects they’re nearby.
Destroys Scrap:
Keep loot away, or watch it turn to dust.
How to Avoid Its Attacks
✔ Crouch under the laser—if you time it perfectly.
✔ Hide behind non-destructible cover—this is the safest bet.
✔ Stay off the ground—it can’t jump, so baiting it from a high ledge is effective.
✔ Run when it laughs—that’s your warning before the laser sweeps.
How to Fight It
Bait its laser, then attack while it’s stunned.
Exploit its bad mobility—if you can stay above it, you’ll have an easier time.
Use the cooldown window—after firing, it’s vulnerable for a few seconds.
The Clown is one of the most dangerous enemies, but patience and cover are your best friends. Dodge, hide, and strike when it’s stunned—or just run like your life depends on it, because it probably does.
