The new housing system in World of Warcraft finally connects guild life with home ownership, but figuring out how to actually get into your guild’s neighborhood is confusing at first. Here’s how it really works once your guild’s ready to move in.
Getting Into a Guild Neighborhood
You can only enter a guild neighborhood once your guild master has created it. Every player starts by building their first home in a public neighborhood. After your guild meets the requirements and sets up its own zone, you’ll move your house there through the housing menu.
The process essentially goes like this.
Claim a plot in a public neighborhood using the Housing Dashboard or the housing portal in Stormwind or Orgrimmar
Your guild master talks to the housing steward near that same portal to register the guild neighborhood once the guild has at least 10 active accounts
When the guild neighborhood is created, open your Housing Dashboard again and choose “Move House” to relocate your home from your public plot to the guild neighborhood
Your house transfers exactly as is, including interior and furniture placement, though fences or decorations close to the edge might shift slightly
Once the move is done, every member of the guild can enter the new instance from the same housing portal in the capital city. If your Warband has one character in that guild, all of your toons gain access automatically.
How Guild Setup Works
Guild neighborhoods are private instances tied directly to your guild. A guild officer creates the first neighborhood by registering it with the housing steward NPC near the capital city’s housing portal. Each instance supports 50 plots, and the game spins up more when the first subdivision fills past 80 percent.
You don’t need to worry about losing progress when moving. The system just places your existing house on the new plot and keeps all your decor, dyes, and upgrades intact.
If your guild ever falls below 10 active accounts, the neighborhood remains, but new plots can’t be claimed until the guild meets the threshold again.
Moving from Public to Guild
If your house started in a public neighborhood, open the Housing Dashboard and select “Move House.” Choose your guild neighborhood and confirm. You’ll pay only the gold cost of the new plot. The move happens instantly.
It’s smart to scout a similar plot layout before the guild neighborhood goes live. That way, your yard will look the same when you transfer.

Final Blurb
Getting to your guild neighborhood isn’t about finding a special portal, it’s about your guild master setting it up and you moving your home into it. Once that’s done, you and every alt on your account can enter through the normal housing portal in your capital city and enjoy your new shared home base.
