AION 2 Best Pet for Cleric
Cleric benefits from pet stats a little differently than a pure DPS class in AION 2. You still want enough offensive power to clear content and contribute between heals, but Attack also matters directly to the support side of the class, making one Pet Genus particularly valuable.

Which Cogni Pet Should You Get?
What Is the Best Pet for Cleric in AION 2?
Cogni is the best Pet Genus for Cleric in most AION 2 builds. At Pet Insight Level 3, Cogni provides HP +30, Critical Hit +2, and Might +1, giving Cleric a combination of extra survivability and offensive scaling that works for both solo play and group PvE.
The most important stat here is Might. Might increases Attack, and Cleric's Healing Enhancement passive uses Attack to improve healing, so increasing Attack is not simply a damage investment on this class.
Best Overall: Cogni
Best for Group PvE: Cogni
Best for Solo Play: Cogni
Best Alternative: Natura
Best Defensive Option: Varian
Main Cogni Stats: HP, Critical Hit, Might
This is also why we rank Cogni highly in our broader AION 2 best pet guide, but Cleric gets even more value from the Genus because Attack contributes to more than just its damage output.
Why Cogni Is the Best Cleric Pet Genus
Cleric constantly moves between two jobs: keeping the party stable and dealing damage whenever healing is not immediately required. Cogni supports both sides without forcing you to build around a niche stat.
Might increases Attack, helping offensive skills while also supporting Cleric's healing through Healing Enhancement. The additional HP gives you more room to survive mechanics, which matters because a dead Cleric cannot recover the rest of the party.
Critical Hit is more offensively focused, but Cleric still spends a significant amount of time attacking when the group is healthy. That makes it more useful than a purely movement-oriented bonus during normal PvE.
Our AION 2 Cleric build guide goes deeper into why Attack remains useful even on a dedicated healing setup.
Best Pet for Cleric PvE and Healing
We would still use Cogni for a normal group PvE Cleric.
It can be tempting to look for a pet with nothing but defensive stats because Cleric is the healer, but that ignores how the class actually scales. Attack contributes to your support setup, while HP gives you a useful defensive cushion for dungeon and boss mechanics.
Group PvE Priority:
Cogni if you want the strongest all-around setup
Natura if you specifically need more Precision and Accuracy
Varian if surviving mechanics is your biggest problem
Natura is the most interesting alternative. Its Level 3 effects include Stamina, Critical Hit Resist, and Precision, with Precision improving Accuracy and Critical Hit. That can be useful if your current setup needs more consistency from offensive skills, but we would not give up Cogni's Might by default.
Best Cleric Pet for Solo Play and Leveling
Cogni becomes an even easier recommendation while playing solo.
Leveling Cleric spends considerably more time attacking than a dedicated dungeon healer, so Might and Critical Hit have immediate value while the extra HP makes mistakes less punishing.
This also avoids having to maintain completely different pet priorities between leveling and endgame group content. A Cogni pet remains useful when you transition from killing enemies alone to supporting a party later.
If your Cleric already has plenty of Attack but is struggling to consistently land attacks against stronger enemies, Natura is a reasonable secondary focus for its Precision bonus.
Best Pet for Cleric PvP
PvP is where we would be more willing to move away from Cogni.
Clerics are valuable targets, and staying alive long enough to heal, cleanse, and protect your team can matter more than squeezing out additional damage. Varian therefore becomes a stronger option because its Level 3 bonuses include Constitution and Evasion Bonus alongside reduced Mount Sprint Stamina cost.
PvE: Cogni
Solo: Cogni
PvP Balanced Build: Cogni
PvP Survival Build: Varian
We would not automatically switch every PvP Cleric to Varian, though. If you already have enough survivability from gear and other systems, Cogni remains useful because Might still supports the class on both sides of its kit.
Which Cogni Pet Should Cleric Use?
You do not need to chase one specific named Cogni pet for Cleric.
Pets within the same Genus receive the same Owned Effects at the same Pet Insight level, so an easily obtained Cogni pet can provide the same relevant stat package as a harder-to-find member of the Genus.
For Elyos, Klaw is a practical early Cogni option, with Wandering Klaw enemies available in Verteron. Asmodian Clerics can target Decomposed Lupyllini, which has low-level sources in Altgard.
Elyos Cleric: Klaw is an easy early Cogni target
Asmodian Cleric: Decomposed Lupyllini is an easy early Cogni target
Need a specific rare Cogni pet: No
What actually matters: Genus and Pet Insight level
Long term, you should still collect pets outside Cogni. Owned Effects contribute value from your wider collection, so the pet system eventually rewards building multiple Genus types rather than permanently ignoring everything except one companion.
But if you are specifically deciding what to prioritize for Cleric, start with Cogni. Might has unusually good value because Attack helps both the offensive side of Cleric and its healing setup, while HP and Critical Hit round out a stat package that remains useful through leveling, solo content, and endgame PvE.
